Hi ,
Winter is always a strange contrast to me. For our family, it tends to be rather hectic, especially around the holidays, full of errands and events. But in the forest behind our house, it's often quiet, even peaceful. It's not until there's a decent snow (like we recently had) and I see all the various animal tracks that I realize the amount of activity, even when I'm not aware of it. I also don't blame them for hunkering down in the freezing temps! 🥶
Those tracks also really get me wondering. Where are they going? What's out there just beyond what I see? That's when my imagination starts firing with ideas of new places to explore. Maybe that's part of why I enjoy fantastical stories so much. What about you? What gives you that sense of wonder?
Unfortunately, wintry landscapes haven't made much of an appearance in my series so far, but who knows? Maybe that will change!
Alright. So where's Awakening at?
Would you believe me if I said the edits are complete? Because they are.
Seriously, it's so exciting to feel like we're about to get things rolling in a big way. Which is why I chose to launch book one of The Oathsworn Chronicles series with a Kickstarter campaign.
What's Kickstarter, you ask? Great question.
Kickstarter is a crowdfunding platform, where creators share their ideas out with others who want to see them realized. If the campaign reaches its funding goal, supporters then receive whatever rewards are being offering. In my case, books. Not only is supporting authors a great feeling, but there are some pretty epic bonuses you can get when backing a Kickstarter, like:
- Early access before retailers
- Free ebooks
- Signed copies
- Exclusive swag
- Special editions
And much more. There are several things I've got planned for Awakening, including its own special edition, available only through Kickstarter, to start the series off with a bang. So I really hope you'll consider being a part of its campaign when it launches in April. You can check out its pre-launch page here to follow it and know the moment it's live!
I'll share more details on how to get started with Kickstarter in my next email, but if you're the type of person who never asks questions until you've already done it (looking at you, Han), don't let me stop you from jumping in! 😉
New books in Kindle Unlimited or on sale!
Not only can you grab my prequel story, The Cataclysm, in this bundle, but there are dozens of other great titles to explore. I was fortunate enough to support Pamela Hart's Kickstarter and get Beauty From Ashes early, and it was a fascinating read. And that's just one of the many here!
FREE books to love!
Wallet still recovering from the holidays? (No shame here.) Grab these fantastically free books any time during the month of February.
I recommend checking out J. A. Webb's and Jeremiah Friedli's stories if you get the chance to look through this first promotion. I've gotten to know both authors a bit and have really enjoyed their stories. There are several others here I may be adding to my own list as well!
There are so many that look good in this group to explore. I've been seeing A.J. Park's name a bit recently, so I think it's time I delved into her books! 😊
That's all I've got for now. I hope you're staying warm and enjoying some good stories. If you've found any new ones recently, let me know!
Have a great rest of your week!
