New Event + Giveaway (#2)

Hey nerds,

I have to admit something. I've actually been quite productive! I'm coordinating a big in-person event in August (more details below), making progress on Cloudfall, and even found time to fall in love with a video game. Honestly, its been a while since I found a game like this. Something that carved out a little niche in my mind and has me excited every night for when the kids are finally asleep.

What game is it? Clair Obscur: Expedition 33! This game is just so good. The story premise is fantastic. The gameplay is fast-paced and fun. I've never recommended a video game in my newsletter before, but I HIGHLY recommend this one.

As far as writing updates go, I'm continuing to hack away at Cloudfall. There is still a long way to go, but I'm making steady progress and am quite happy with what I have so far. There are three main characters and I've made the most progress on the tone-reader's storyline. The retiree and the exile both have more work ahead of them. I wish I had more energy and time during the day to write this faster, so the least I can do is make sure it's worth the wait.

Worldcon Event

I am so excited to share the first initial news about this upcoming event! Since Worldcon is coming to my hometown in Seattle, I wanted to organize something fun. I've also been a firm believe in "the more the merrier". So...I've coordinated with a bookstore in north Seattle to host 8+ authors for a giant bookstore takeover / signing event. We're still finalizing the names, but it will be a mix of indie and traditionally published authors.

For now, if you're coming to Worldcon or live near Seattle, mark August 13th on your calendar. More details to come!

I will share one name, actually...Andy Peloquin! He's a good friend and will be in town from Canada, he's also got an insane sale going on right now for all 9 of his Darkblade assassin books in preparation for his latest release.

Giveaway!

I promised that every newsletter this year would have a giveaway for one of the convention editions of Threadlight, and today we have another! It was so fun to see the first winner be Dan Roop, who has been part of the newsletter for several years now. He's already received his book and shared some pics on Threads (link).

Who will be next!?
