Update from Odessa, Ukraine
Feb 28, 2022 2:01 pm
Dear ,
While the world is following the crisis between Russia and Ukraine, for us it’s personal. Our aunt and uncle, Rabbi Avraham and Chaya Wolff, live in Odessa, Ukraine, and among many institutions, they established an orphanage house for children who were either abandoned or have parents that can’t raise them. They treat these 100 children like their own, providing for them from cradle to marriage.
<--Just confirmed: Today at 1pm, Rabbi Wolff will be joining us on a LIVE Zoom broadcast from Ukraine. Join in solidarity with the Jews of Ukraine - click here to sign up. Donate here to the emergency fund.-->
Most foreign nationals left Ukraine to their home countries, but for aunt and uncle leaving is not an option. In their words " who will tend to the orphans who can't leave, who will look after the elderly in the community, some of them holocaust survivors?"
Even as bombs drop and the war unfolds, my sister and brother-in-law are among the nearly 200 Chabad-Lubavitch representatives throughout the length and breadth of Ukraine remain with their people, providing much-needed material aid, encouragement, and most importantly, spiritual strength and support.
Today at 1:00 pm, Rabbi Wolff will be joining us on a LIVE Zoom broadcast from Ukraine. Join us as we stand in solidarity with the Jews of Ukraine, and hear an update on what the community is going through. (Click here to reserve your spot.)
No matter where you are, you can make a difference.
Say a prayer such as Chapter 20 in the book of Psalms, do acts of goodness and kindness for your neighbors, community, and friends, and know that you have introduced a dose of spiritual energy into a world that seems to be pulsating with negativity.
This is our opportunity to show my sister and brother-in-law that they are not alone and we will support them to bring emergency relief to the orphans in their orphanage house who are in the crisis of their lives. Please open your hearts and help them by clicking here to donate.
May G‑d protect the people of Ukraine and anyone in harm’s way and may we soon enter the era of global peace and harmony, with Moshiach.
