I got more personal this month than I normally do

Sex Positive You: Issue 44
Hi loves,
I know I've said it before but I'm LOVING Substack. If you don't follow me there yet, it's become my blog. I let myself talk about whatever is on my mind (like my DEIJ analysis on the wobbly chair test) rather than thinking about whether what I'm writing fits with my brand - it's just me (and more frequent than my newsletters).
I'm also kind of using it as a journal (don't tell my mentor that I fell off the handwritten journal practice hehe). This means that I am willing to publish more vulnerably than on other forms of social media. Like when I talked about my body battling a fawning response at the beginning of the month.
Even though I consider myself a generally open person, not everything feels right for social media. That's why I didn't share my post on home from earlier this month on Insta but I'm letting you know about it because you're already part of a more intimate community by being on my mailing list.
Also, if you've ever wondered about couples coaching with me, I wrote "What to Expect with Couples Coaching" to address some larger expectations and myths.
Opportunity to Engage in Mutual Aid
If you haven't already heard, the Bangladesh government has been violently oppressing protesting students and cut off access to the internet so that the world would not witness their crimes. Below is a message a friend sent me on the 20th, (as of 9 hours ago, the internet was still down) asking us to contact our local representatives:
"Bangladesh (our home country) is currently under a complete media blackout and the internet has been disabled, and calls going into and out of the country are of very poor quality. Most of us have only made the barest contact with our family back home in the last 48 hours. This all stemmed from student protests demanding quota system reform for government jobs. These student protests turned violent last week (see New York Times Article 1 and New York Times Article 2).
The Bangladesh Students Association (BDSA) at Indiana University is urging everyone to write to their representatives to request the Department of State to issue a statement urging the Bangladeshi government to reinstate internet connection and telecommunication services. However, the main goal is to get media attention. To that end, they have prepared letter templates (with different templates for Bangladeshis and non-Bangladeshis, US citizens, noncitizens, etc.) as well as on how to figure out who your representatives are.
Please share on social media and via email with your networks.
