Here is a recap of our message from this weekend...

Breakthrough: Fight For Your Future

In the third week of our "Breakthrough" series, Pastor Jared welcomes us back to explore how focusing on our future is essential for experiencing the breakthrough God has for us.

He begins by reflecting on the previous weeks, where we discussed the power of our minds and the obstacles of fear, distraction, and doubt. Today, we take a step further by learning to "Fight for Your Future."

Pastor Jared centers the message around Jeremiah 29:11, reminding us that God knows the plans He has for us—plans to prosper us and not harm us, plans to give us hope and a future. This promise is a reminder that God's vision for our future is far greater than anything we could imagine for ourselves. We are encouraged to trust in His plan, even when our current circumstances seem difficult.

Weekly Bible Study List

  1. Matthew 14:27 - "But Jesus immediately said to them: 'Take courage! It is I. Don’t be afraid.'"
  2. Psalm 46:1 - "God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble."
  3. Matthew 14:29 - "Come," he said. Then Peter got down out of the boat, walked on the water, and came toward Jesus."
  4. John 16:33 - "In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world."

3 OBSTACLES STANDING IN THE WAY OF YOUR BREAKTHROUGH

  1. Our Past: The first obstacle Pastor Jared addresses is our past. Just like the Israelites who doubted God after being freed from Egypt, we often let our past mistakes and regrets define our present. But if we are to experience the blessings of our future, we must leave our past where it belongs—behind us. Our past should not hold us back from the future God has planned.
  2. Our Present: Next, Pastor Jared speaks about the importance of our present. God is not only concerned with our future but also with our present obedience and humility. Using the example of David and Bathsheba, Pastor Jared warns that focusing too much on our present desires can distract us from God’s bigger plan. We must submit our daily lives to God’s will to step into the future He has prepared.
  3. Our Pride: Lastly, Pastor Jared tackles the issue of pride. Pride can give us a false sense of security, leading us to believe we don’t need God’s help. The story of Israel's defeat at Ai after their victory at Jericho illustrates how quickly pride can lead to failure. We are reminded that humility is key to staying in God’s will and experiencing His breakthrough.

From Sermon to Action

Pastor Jared concludes by challenging us to "sign the contract" with God, giving Him full control over our future without knowing what it holds. If anything is keeping us from doing this, we are called to lay it down and trust God completely. To fight for our future, we must be willing to get out of God's way and let Him take the lead.
