Hello from Wales
Summer has been a but disappointing here in Wales.
Last year, we spent much of it paddle boarding, but have only managed to get out once this year. The weather has been rubbish with too much rain and wind. Still, we mustn't complain (although, we like too). At least we haven't been subjected to the crazy weather a large proportion of the world has with all the floods and fires.
It all means I have spent a lot of time indoors feeling sorry for myself. But I have managed to get in lots of reading, and also lots of writing, which I am pretty pleased about.
I mentioned in my last email about stretching my writing chops and exploring some new genres, and I have started doing just this. I've plotted a dysopian romance, and I have to say I am feeling pretty good about it. I will probably start a new pen name for the books. I'll keep you posted, but if you want to learn more, I've set up a dedicated website and also a Tiktok channel (I am so bad at Tiktok, but learning).

It's a been a month since Mila returned to Chernivtsi. And it was an eventful homecoming. Still contemplating how Pietro, whom she thought was the lost love of her life, could be such a fraud and then be killed so horribly? She was glad the school year had started and she was able to focus on her classes and students instead.
However with the arrival of a new dean circumstances will be both good and bad for Mila. Though Sergei Vasilovici seems to be a challenging fellow with no real connections or much of a personal history Mila finds him an acceptable replacement for Pietro Melnik as dean, especially when he offers her a promotion. Yet he is not as amiable with the students, especially Ivan Popov. The two are seen arguing after Sergei's welcome assembly and when Sergei is found murdered in his office the next morning Ivan is pulled in as the most likely suspect.
When she realizes what has happened she rushes to help Ivan, he may be a trouble maker and a bit of a womanizer, but he is not a murderer, that she knows. Ivan's arrest also brings his brother Oleck rushing home from his posting in Kyiv
The two join forces to help Ivan and soon discover that there is more going on than meets the eye and perhaps that applies to the two of them as well...
