Thank you all for the book recommendations, I have read seven since my last email and have enjoyed spending the time with books again!

I read something by Lindsey Squire the other day, she pointed out that...

"The world is a busy place, and we can get swept along with it, where we are constantly expected to give our all 365 days a year. But like the natural world, it's okay to pause to rest if your energy is low. We have four seasons so that nature is able to rest and restore herself after the life and growth of spring and summer. Following Mother nature's lead, taking regular time to rest so we can recharge and renew our energies is very healthy, not only for your body, but your mind and spirit too."

I guess, I am trying to rest. If you need to do the same, make sure you take time to recharge and don't feel guilty about it!

I say trying, as I had an impulse to enrol on a Creative Writing PhD the other day. Either unfortunately or luckily 😄I am too late to apply for an October start,. The next intake is in January, and I have until the beginning of November to think about it and decide if I really want to do it.

But this has made me think about stretching my writing chops and exploring some new genres. My primary writing will always be urban fantasy and paranormal cosies, but I hope branching out will teach me new things and improve my writing. I'll keep you posted on whatever I am doing.

Redecoration Work

It finally happened, Jennifer is now officially a teenager (although I think she's been a 50 year old woman for the past 5 years).

Her dolphin mural wall is gone, and has been replaced by a sage green feature wall. I must admit, I like the result. Her room is now very calming. Mewie the cat has claimed it as her own and doesn't seem to leave the bed. Ever!
