What game are you playing as an expert?

Hey there people!
When it comes to making money...
Most of us have been conditioned to think primarily of just two ways:
First....get a job.
Second...start a business.
But there's third option that most of us never really get to hear about...
And that is to build a practice.
The community mastery method is designed to help people build successful careers, businesses or practices...
Since we're familiar already with getting jobs and starting businesses...
Let me spend some time educating us about what a practice is.
The primary thing to understand is this:
A practice is based on the expertise of the principal (owner of the practice)
And even though there might be systems in place and a team...
The core functions depend on the expertise of the principal.
Think about a brain surgeon for instance...
He/she can't create a system to replace himself in the procedures he has to do.
But everything is design to make sure he/she is free to do what they want to do at the highest possible level.
In a business...
The goal is to have systems and people replace you...
In a practice...
The goal is to have systems and people make sure you can keep doing what you do.
And so..
Whilst loving what you do isn't a requirement for a successful business.
Loving what you do is the holy grail of running a successful practice.
In business you set up systems and teams to create freedom...
In a practice you set up teams and systems to create fulfilment...
These differences are very subtle...
But in the long run they mean a lot to you happiness and your sense of contribution.
Business people typical work to get themselves out of a business...
Practice owners typically work to put themselves in their practice.
Till then...
Like i said..
It's a very subtle difference...
But it makes a major difference in the game you play and how you play it.
Getting advice from someone who runs a business on how to run a practice is deadly...
It's like getting advice about badminton from someone who has only played tennis their entire life and doesn't know anything about badminton...
You've get well meaning bad advice.
That's why being clear about what game you're playing is vitally important.
I've played both...
I own businesses...
And I also run a practice...
And to be honest, strictly from a fulfilment point of view...
It's better.
And I know it like the back of my hand.
Here's something that's also pretty important...
You've probably heard them say...
Don't trade time for money...
While that's fantastic advice for business...
It's a horrible advice for a practice...
In a practice...
We sell time for money...but we do it for $5000 to $500000+ a day
Selling time for insane amounts of money is what we do.
IN a practice...
You primary job is to think, sell and deliver...
You can't outsource those jobs...
But in a business...you can.
A practice give you the flexibility of being you and changing according as you evolve...
A business when run as it should...
Doesn't give you that level of flexibility.
So here's the deal...
If you want to make money as a speaker, author, trainer, mentor, consultant, facilitator, coach or a combination of the above...
The most forgiving way to go about it and be in alignment with who you are...
Is to...
Build a practice.
Till tomorrow..
Play a bigger game than you've ever played before.
