Hey there

A while ago I stumbled on a rather interesting book titled: The Basic Laws Of Human Stupidity by Carlo Cipolla..

I later found out that it was an international bestseller..

Anyway..

In the book, stupidity is given a very interesting definition:

It's acting in ways that causes losses to others without getting any benefits yourself or even incurring losses personally as a result.

Interesting right?

According to Cipolla...

Stupid people are the most dangerous people in the world...

But I digress...

My letter to you today is about how not to be stupid in 2022...

In other words..

How can you be of maximum benefit to yourself and others in 2022?

First...

When it comes to taking your practice to that critical next level of success...

Do not assume that the way to do that is to just focus on making a difference in other people's lives...

Without a clear idea of how you can benefit from doing that.

That.

Is.

Stupid.

And yet...

You'd be amazed at how many of us just want to serve without giving consideration to how much money we want to make...

And then moan and complain about how life isn't fair...

So settle the money issue.

In 2022...

How much do you want to earn as a result of making a difference in other people's lives.

That's an intelligent question to ask and an intelligent place to start.

Second...

Do not confuse busyness with accomplishment.

That.

Is.

Stupid.

Running through 2022 like a chicken with it's head chopped off isn't smart.

Don't do things in 2022 without being clear as to why you're doing them?

In other words...

Do not do anything that isn't in alignment with your highest values.

A few years ago...

I committed to pretty much everything that was put in front of me...

It was exhausting...

Now I simply as: How does this give me more power? How does this improve my ability to create the results I want?

And if I can't see a clear path for how that commitment brings me more power..

I leave it alone until I do.

Why?

Because Power...the ability to produce any result I want when I want it....is my highest value.

Stupid is not walking in alignment or staying focused on what's important to you.

Third...

Do not stay in relationship with stupid people.

Stupidity is contagious...

It's worse than poverty...

If the people around you are not consistently acting in their best interest and yours...

Consistently giving them unrestricted access to you is stupid.

So audit your relationships...

Who gets to come with you into the future you have planned for yourself in 2022...

And who doesn't.

Doing this will help you protect your attention and focus...

And also protect you from unwanted influences..

Fourth...

Decided in advance that no matter what happens in 2022...

You are going to be happy.

Not making that decision in advance...is stupid.

You do not need success or achievement of any kind to be happy...

You can..

This very moment...

Choose to be happy.

Happiness is the ultimate empowered state.

It doesn't mean never experiencing emotional pain or grief or sorrow...

It means consistently maintaining an attitude of gratitude in spite of whatever you're feeling or going through.

It has nothing to do with positive thinking...

And everything to do with a consistent decision to be present and grateful...always.

It is a willingness to not always be in control and to trust that everything ultimately works for your good and the good of others.

Choosing to live any other way...is stupid.

Why?

Letting yourself be run by negative emotions is a pretty great way to cause harm and loss to yourself and others.

So be present.

Be grateful.

Be happy.

And in doing so activate levels of genius within you that you never thought possible.

Start the year right...

Gives you an opportunity to actually constructively think through 2022 in a way that makes you Stupid proof.
