So yesterday my youngest daughter comes to me with a question...

She currently has a small side hustle where she makes and sells Zobo on weekends...

She's 11yrs old...

Nelly: Daddy should I sell cheap and to the masses or do I sell high to a few desperate people?

To be honest...

The question caught me off guard...

Me: How many desperate people do you know?

Nelly: It depends. Are you talking about people who are naturally desperate for zobo or people who are desperate because I made them desperate?

One of the things I try to teach my girls is the dangers of binary thinking...

Right or Wrong...

Yes or No...

This or That...

There are nuances and consequences to every single decision that we make...

Binary thinking stops us from seeing the full picture.

Now don't get me wrong...

I'm not talking about values here...

I'm just talking about the ability to make a well thought out decision that leads you in the direction that you actually want...no matter the fall out.

That's pretty much why...

I don't have cookie cutter recommendations for everyone...

What works for one...

Isn't guaranteed to work for another...

There are fundamentals of course...

But application is always nuanced.

The safest way to deal with life in my very vain opinion is this...

1. Know exactly what you want
2. Understand exactly where you are
3. Clarify what you prefer in relation to your reality
4. Choose your consequence

Take a decision as simple as I want to travel.

First where exactly do you want to travel to?

Second...

Where are you at the moment in terms of location, resources and opportunity?

Third...

How would you prefer to travel?

Now you have those three things sorted...

What would happen if you travelled the way you prefer now?

What would not happen if you travelled the way you prefer now?

What would happen if you didn't travel the way you prefer now?

What would not happen if you didn't travel the way you prefer now?

Now based on your answers...

Are you travelling or not?

Being clear on your preferences in relation to what you want makes decision making a whole lot easier...

Why?

It ensures you can prepare in advance to deal to a large extent with a lot of the realities that you create as a result of your choices...

You minimize the risk of creating experiences you'd rather not have..

And upside your options for creating what you really truly want.

QUESTION: CTM...should I attend Start The Year Right or Not?
