Hey there!
Yesterday we talked about non negotiables and I shared mine.
Today...
I'll breakdown 3 of my non negotiables so you understand just how powerful they are in ensuring that I produce the results that I want...
Automatically.
That's the great thing about your non negotiables.
When you get clear on them and follow them, they make your results pretty much automatic.
So let's get into it...
Don't negotiate with yourself.
Of all the non negotiables that I have for myself...
This is one of the two top ones for me and here's why:
If I know for a 100% fact without fail that I am not going to negotiate with
myself...
Guess what?
That means I am going to stop making stupid deals with myself.
It's that simple.
When I commit to something I am 100% committed.
I am married to it and because of that I am extremely careful about the deals that I make with myself ( Mind the Gap ).
There is no point in making any plans if you are going to convince yourself that..
It’s okay to wander off.
#evillaugh
Committing to this rule forces me to focus on what I want..
And what will make me happy....
Instead of what I don't want.
It ensures that I'm not a tyrant to myself and protects me from rebelling against me.
Your non negotiables protect you from yourself.
Refusing to negotiate with myself helps me stick to my second non negotiable which is:
Do not start anything you are not willing or cannot do forever.
Here's something I learned from one of my clients: Bode Agbe Davies...
Let's pretend for a moment that you want to lose 30kg..
.
To lose that 30kgs you decide to eliminate all carbohydrates and exercise two times a day for seven days a week.
So far so good right?
Now...
Let's say that while starving yourself and exercising two times a day you actually lose the 30kgs...
In order to keep that 30kgs off...
You have married yourself to starving and over-exercising.
It's not going to be pretty because you have achieved the outcome you want by means that are not sustainable.
By the way...
Bode has an amazing program called the Fitter Body Plan..
Check her out on instagram: @bodeagbedavies
Back to my gist:
Any time you achieve a result through means that you can't sustain...
Your progress and success are on a very fragile foundation.
It is important to remember that your maximum achievability is not your
maximum maintainability.....
#breaksintosponteneousspeakingintongues
Ka ya ya mata so mahin bre kaya!!!
Let me repeat that:
You maximum achievability is not your maximum maintainability.
Your 900 day progress photo tells us a lot more than your 90 day progress photo.
This is true in business.
This is true relationships.
If you plan on being around beyond the next 90 days...
The smart thing is to stop thinking “can I do this for the next 90 days” and start
contemplating “is this something I am willing to do forever?”
That question will change your life.
One of my clients is the amazing Modupe Ehirim, founder of the Right Fit Marriage Academy and the Right Fit Marriage Process™.
She has a concept in her framework called the 50 year question...
It's a question she developed to help couples who want to get married face the truth about their commitment to each other...
Here's the question:
Can you commit to loving this person for 50 years even if they didn't love you back?
#evillaugh
That question when asked filters out all the BS people tell themselves about love when their only thinking with their genitals.
I refuse to waste energy judging people or trying to be “right.”
Nothing hinders productivity, profitability and quality of life more than wasting time and energy.
Both are valuable and both are limited in quantity.
Nothing waste more time and energy than trying to be right or judging
people.
It's not profitable.
It's not productive.
And it's definitely not a requirement for your happiness.
Proving other people wrong does not move me closer to my goals...
And the truth is this:
People pay me a lot of money to judge them so I'm definitely not going to do it for free.
I'm not giving you space in my head that others are willing to pay for.
#evillaugh
I mean...
If people pay for space in your brain then why give it to others at no charge?
I don't know about you...
But that's pretty liberating for me.
And yes...
I know how that can sound or come across...
How ever...
It’s such a useful tool and way of thinking about things...
And managing our emotional and mental interactions with people
I just had to share that with you...
Someone is earning space in your brain.
They may pay for it with money, time, attention, love, care… whatever it is.
Just make sure it's worth it.
Next time someone tries to occupy space in your brain...
At no charge to them...
Think about what you are telling the universe about what you’re worth.
Tomorrow..
I'm officially opening registrations for Start The Year Right...
The investment is just N50,000
I'll send you a letter tomorrow covering everything that will happen over the 5 days we'll be together at Start The Year Right to ensure that your predictably profitable and productive in 2023.

Till then...
Get out of your own way.
CTM
