Hey there!

I remember when I first head about the book "Think and Grow Rich"...

My life purpose instantly became to read the book and discover the secret formula for wealth...

Imagine my annoyance when, after, I moved heaven and earth to find the book...

I read that the secret is hidden inside the book in plain view, and that I will only see it when I'm ready...

#sigh

Over the next few years I read everything the Napoleon Hill Foundation had to offer and become something of an expert in his work...

You know what I learned?

There are no formulas...

There are only principle centered frameworks...

Operating systems for producing very specific results.

Yesterday I spent sometime with a private client...

And whilst we spent sometime going over The Idea Bank Worksheet™...

(A tool I use with my clients to help them document ideas that would later become tools, systems and programs)

We had a conversation about mindsets...

Bottomline...

I shared the idea that Mindset is always linked to a conscious or unconscious target...

Your mind is literally set in a specific direction and that set of the mind regulates what you will or will not do...

Unfortunately most of us leave that to chance and never really intentionally define what we want...

Why?

Because the moment we deliberately define the criteria for success...

We also define the criteria for failure...

And also close off multiple different options.

For most people...

It's a scary thought...

And as such...

That's not a decision they are willing to make.

Instead...

They prefer to look at other people's experiences as a basis for evaluating their own...

"Should I be doing that?"

"Everybody is doing that...may I should too."

Nothing wrong with that if it's actually how you want to live..

Data however shows that there are always nuances to what makes us happen even when we seem to want the same things...

We might both want that island off the coast of Brazil...

But you might want it to prove a point to that silly ex of yours...

I might want it for the sheer pleasure of owning my own country...

Inviting people over and determining who gets embarrassingly searched by my customs officials...

Or some other vain reason.

Sometimes it's easier to covet someone elses success than to clearly define our own...

I'm sure you probably know someone we both know isn't smarter than you are but who seems to get all the lucky breaks you struggle to get...

Let's call that bastard Effiong!

And so instead of focusing on your own path...

You find yourself obsessing more and more about what Effiong is doing or not doing...

#sigh

You begin to resent Effiong.

Effiong is a threat to your success...

And you start to wonder what the point of it all is...

If Effiong is out there doing it bigger and better than you..

Screw you, Effiong!

It’s not magic.

It’s an operating system...

A really effective operating system that can be examined and even replicated.
