Two rules for getting everything that you want
Oct 06, 2022 7:01 am
Hey there!
In order to get something you've never had...Sometimes you've got to do something that you've never done.
To be honest the first time I saw that quote...
It hit me like a bag of fufu aimed at my head from a 60 storey building.
Bottom line it means...
You don't get extreme talent, fame, money, love or success with mediocre actions...
The reason why most people will never enjoy extreme results...is because they are not sufficiently motivated to engage in the actions necessary to drive extreme results.
TWO RULES
To end this year better than you did last year...
Here are two rules to live by..
1. You've got to have zero tolerance for unproductive activities
2. Be willing to do all you can do with all that you have, right where you are.
There's a high connection between high income, high performance and high standards....
And a very low tolerance for anything that stands in the way of you productivity..
Whether it's something you're doing yourself or something that is being done to you by others...
You’ve got to be aware of what you are permitting to happen around you, with you, and with what’s getting in your way...
And you must be willing to kill it BEFORE it kills your performance and subsequent results.
As the old say goes..
You get out of life what you are willing to tolerate...
And that is why you must have a zero tolerance policy for unproductive behavior.
Here's something else...
A number of us have been conditioned since birth to act and think in terms of sequential progress...
As in step one before step two and then step three...
A before B and then C
Walk before you run...
Nothing wrong with that...
Especially when you're getting to grips with the fundamentals...
But once that is done...
Staying there is flawed thinking...
And trying to drive extreme results with sequential thinking and acting is a formula for a lot of very unnecessary suffering.
The truth is high performers simply don't think sequentially.
Once the fundamentals are mastered...
They believe in advancing rapidly from one place, position, or situation to another without progressing through all or any of the places or stages in between...
Read that again:
Once the fundamentals are mastered...
They believe in advancing rapidly from one place, position, or situation to another without progressing through all or any of the places or stages in between...
This type of thinking and acting allows them to create extreme results by leveraging the knowledge, experience, successes, and failures of others without having to pay the price themselves.
Another thing:
How you treat deadlines and your ability to act with urgency, speaks volumes about you, your belief system, your reputation, your results and your future.
A good chunk of underperformance can be narrowed down to 3 core reasons:
- Not setting deadlines
- Missing deadlines
- Not enforcing behavior changing consequences
Here's something I've always found amusing...
How people act when they are faced with a serious consequence if they don't get into action...
They get themselves to do things they never bother with on the normal...
They start to act live every moment mattered.
As such they get results they typically don't get on the normal...
Question: why don't they live that way always and as such consistently produce at that level...?
Why don't you?
If you want to end this year on a super strong note...
You have to behave in a way that consistently shows that every move you make has importance, and every second counts.
Yesterday...
I talked about opening spots (3 spots at N250,000 rather than N2.5m) for my action plan consultation...
And I promised to let you know all about it today.
Unfortunately...
This email is long enough as it is...
So here's what I'm going to do instead...
At 9am today...
That's in about an a hour...
You've get another email from me about the action plan consultation.
It contains everything you need to know in order to make a decision about investing that time with me...
Till then...
Take care of you.
And more important...
Get out of your own way.
