Hey there

So yesterday...

After my confession about the struggles I'm having with

getting my mojo back...

I had a number of us reach out to me...

Some said prayers for me...

Others...

Sent me stuff...

Still others...

Asked if there was anything specific they could help with...

And for all of that...

I am so grateful...

It drove home for me again the one thing that I believe is

essential for success: PEOPLE

So today...

I want to ask...

Who's in your corner when times are tough?

If your business fell through today...

And you got caught up in really bad times....

Would your clients, customers, suppliers...

Rally round to help save your business?

If you can't answer that question with a definite YES...

Then you have a pretty big problem...

And what you need to be focused on doing right now...

Is remedying that fact.

It’s essential to have an ‘inner circle’ of suppliers and partners

who can help you when times get tough.

The key with this step however is deep diving into how YOU can help other people

when times get tough.

What products or services can you create and deliver that would help others

survive these times?

Being able to answer this question will help you position yourself in a way

that will help you keep the cash coming.

You can also use the situation to not only keep the cash coming in and cement

yourself as an authority in your field.

Now whilst there are typically 5 kinds of partnerships you should be investing

in right now...

I want to talk about one that is pretty fundamental...

And that's investing in a mentor....

Now notice that I didn't say invest in a coach...

I said invest in a mentor...

I say that because after 13 solid years of working with the same mentor...

I can easily tell you that...

Having someone in your corner who understands the journey you want to make...

And has been on that journey themselves a number of times...

Is vital to your success.

Working with my mentor over the past years has given me conviction..

Conviction that it is very possible to live life on my terms doing work I like...

With people that I like...

When I like...

And how I like...

And beyond all that...

I think the greatest benefit for me has been the permission to be my

authentic self...

And we all need that.

It takes a lot of courage...

To accept yourself for...

Who you are right now...

Who have been...

Who you can be....

And quite possibly...

Who you will never be...

And still be shamelessly ok with that.

And whilst a coach can help you get to self acceptance...

Radical shamelessness needs someone who has actually walked

the path that you want to walk.

Let me share with you something I'm not in the habit of sharing in

public...

Mainly because I mostly a pretty private guy...

But I think this will help give context to what I'm trying to pass to you.

In 2019...

For the very first time...

I crossed a billion naira in revenue...

Yup...

You read right...

BILLLIIIOOON!

Not million...

In 2019...

For the very first time...

I went into debt to the tune of N1.5billion...

Again...

BI.

LI.

ON.

Not millions...

In 2019...

For the very first time...

I came out of a N1.5billion debt...

Started from scratch again...

Had surgery...

And was profitable again..

Within two months.

None of that would have been possible if I didn't have the right mentors

in my life...

People who have walked the path that I'm walking.

Has it been easy?

Nope!

It's been hard.

And It's still hard...

And I'm doing it...

I'm getting it done...

Because the people I have surrounding me and helping me stay accountable

and responsible to my future self...

These people are all models of what's possible for me.

So what's all this got to do with you?

First...

Be a model of possibility for your people in these times...

Second...

If you know for a fact that you want to make this journey...

And become a high profile, highly paid person of influence in your field...

But unfortunately you're not inspired by the company you keep...

Get yourself a mentor...

It could be me...

Or anyone else that floats your boat...

Get one.
