Hey there!
The model below is known is The Highly Paid Expert's Strategic Growth Stages™.
And early on in my journey, it was a model I created to showcase the stages of growth, that experts had to go through to go from zero to a million dollars a year as an expert running a practice.
On average it was an 8 year journey.
So would go faster and get there before the eight years...
Others would take more time...
And some would arrive just on time.
Once I put this model in front of anyone, it made them rethink what what possible for them...
And I cannot confirm nor deny that it may or may not have put some people in hospital.
The point is...
It made a clear, tangible case for a journey to take with me.
It also solidified the fact that I was the one to follow on that journey...
Why?
Well...
Nobody else was mapping the journey for their clients in a way that made practical sense.
Now here's what you need to keep in mind...
I didn't whip the figures out of my you-know-what!
It was based on research.
The average consultant/coach back then brought in about $2000...
That was N300,000 back then....when the model was created.
That meant I could speak about it with conviction and references.
It also meant that I could make leaps in context.
For instance one of the things I used to say back then was that N300,000 was the new minimum wage...
It brought a lot of attention my way...
And this...
Until you have N10million in petty cash you have no business buying a brand new car...
That ruffled a lot of feathers.
But both statements were based on that fact that there are certain things you prioritize at different stages of growth if you want your practice to move forward.
I share this to give you an idea of the depth of thinking you are responsible for bringing to your clients and customers...
This level of thinking and just simply being a decent human being will take you further than any credential can...
I should know...
I have my 3rd Class Degree in Management framed and put up in front of me in my office...
It reminds me everyday about what's important and what's not.
Now don't get me wrong...
I'm not saying don't get the certifications you need...
So fields are more particular than others...
All I'm saying is...
Know your stuff not your paper!!!
This is even more critical in todays world where wealth is regulated by property, cash and information...
We all need to get all three...
But the easiest thing to leverage right now is just simply the ideas between your ears...
What's all this got to do with what I promised sharing today about creating Customer Journeys?
Remember when we said that once a person buys into the future that you represent...?
You literally don't have to sell them anything, they will buy by default....?
Well..
The customer journey gives them context and order for how they invest in themselves through you.
The picture above gave context for a long term relationship with me.
And the programs I provided gave context for how to maximize the relationship with me.
How do you go about making that happen?
Well...
Here's how you think about a 3 year customer journey...
Think in terms of 3 milestones...
- 12 weeks,
- 12 months,
- 3 years.
Now here's the trick...
You don't start with the 12 week miles stone...
I want you to start with where you're going to take your customer over a three year period of time.
“In three years, working with my ideal customer together we will achieve
_______________________.”
What is that critical thing you will achieve with they over a three year relationship with you?
Then you ask?
How far can I get them down that road in 12 months?
Then....
How far can I get them down that road in 12 weeks?
These three major milestones are super important because they're aligned with a SolutionFrame™
