Blood, guts and heads in the gutter

Hey there!
Yesterday was interesting.
So there I was on my porch, thinking through the session I was going to be having with participants of the current ongoing Influential Architecture Masterclass...
When I seen this care speeding up towards my place.
Next thing I know..
An elderly man comes out of know where...
And suddenly there's blood, guts, body parts and a head disconnected from a body.
I haven't seen anything that gory in years.
I was surprisingly calm.
The car goes over the poor man and crashes into my power pole
#sigh
Then the driver stumbles out of the car and make a run for a neighboring house.
So I call the police.
A while after they arrive...
And the secondary drama starts...
Turns out the dead man has connections with the army.
#doublesigh
That's when my fears kicked in...
Did I invariably sign the drivers death warrant?
Anyways...
I disconnect myself from the drama and ask my assistant to turn on my generator...
#triplesigh
I have three.
All three pick that exact moment to decide to not work.
I just knew the class was as good as lost.
Fortunately my people were very understanding and we rescheduled for 7pm WAT tonight.
One of my favorite poems says
Life is fickle with it's twist and turns
One moment a blessing the next a burn
So seize each minute, have a blast
God alone knows if it's your last
Let's just say once the drama died down all I wanted to do was hug my wife and girls and let them know I really truly love them.
Why am I sharing this?
Because it's very likely that in this moment you might be caught up with a lot of things and as a result forget that this moment might just be you last.
And if it turns out that it is...
Well...
Did you truly live
Did you truly love
Did you matter
Or did you get boughed down by the small things that ultimately don't matter and as a result live a mean, irrelevant and unforgiving life.
The good thing is we all have the capacity to move towards a better, happier difference making quality of life.
If we just get out of our own way
Till tomorrow.
CTM.
