Hey there!

It's the start of a beautiful week!

And if you've been following our conversation over the last few days...

One thing should be crystal clear.

There's a big gap between what we say we want to do and what we actually end up doing each and every day..

If we take the time and make the effort to close the gap...

Our productivity and profitability radically shoot up predictably.

The question is:

What keeps us from consistently closing the gab between what we say we want to do and what we actually do?

The lies in what I refer to as our non negotiables.

Our non negotiables rules we set for ourself about what we will and will not allow in our lives or business as a result of where we say we want to go.

If you say you want a great relationship with your partner...

You need to set rules for your self that when followed deliver that.

If you say you want a practice that delivers results and that is wildly profitable...

You have to set rules that will make the delivery of that result automatic when followed.

Early on this year...

I hosted the money breakthrough workshop...

And during the workshop I shared my personal money rules...

One key one being that of defining for myself in advance what it means to be broke and living accordingly...

You see for most people...

Broke means I don't have any money...

For me that's not the case...

Broke for me means I've reached the threshold of what I'm willing to spend from my reserves...

And it's a number.

It's a personal financial rule.

And one that has served me well.

Those who attended the workshop and followed through with that idea are richer for it.

Those who didn't...

Well...

Let's just say they're still struggling with a zero bank balance.

Breakthroughs at all levels happen the moment you set the standard for what you refuse to negotiate in your life, relationships, career or practice.

Here are a few of my non negotiables given the quality of life I want for myself...

1. I refuse to negotiate my commitments with myself.
2. I refuse to start something I'm not willing to do forever.
3. I refuse to judge people or try to be right/win an argument
4. I refuse to accept my way as the only possible/effective way.
5. I will never put transactions above relationships. If I have an issue with you it'll never be about the money but about your character.

I strongly suggest you consider doing the same for yourself.

Given the results you want for yourself...

What are your non negotiables?

Now..

When you note what these non negotiables are for you...

Ask yourself what it will cost you to keep this non negotiable...

Are you willing to pay that price?

For instance choosing to optimize for relationships and not for money has serious benefits...

But fundamentally those benefits come at a cost...

And that cost is time and speed...

When focusing on relationships and not transactions...

Things move a lot slower and can be pretty unpredictable..

It's also a lot more work.

Am I willing to pay that price?

Yes!

And I pay it...

Every. Single. Day..
