What kissing says about your practice
Feb 12, 2024 7:58 am
Hey there!
So....
My mother taught me how to kiss.
Her reason?
She didn't want any son of hers embarrassing her the first time he kisses a girl.
She taught me that kissing was all about communication.
It's a physical expression of your depth of affection, gratitude and appreciation for a particular man or woman.
Get it right and you will bond at levels you can't do with just words and time together.
There are things that are forever better expressed through touch than through words...
And so kissing girls and women on the lips, cheeks, forehead, earlobes, hands, fingers, toes, back, neck and pretty much anywhere else was as normal to me as hugs.
It was all about communicating how I felt in the moment.
It wasn't until I got back into Nigeria and planted a full one on my step mum's mouth that I realized it wasn't a particularly regular form of expression...
For all people.
But...
It was worth the scolding I got later though, the look on her face was priceless!!
#evillaugh
Now over the years, I've kissed quite a lot of women.
Some were terrible kissers...
Somehow...
These people thought the idea was to...
Turn my mouth into a dumping ground for spit...
As they violently raped my previously peaceful mouth with their tongue and teeth.
#shudders
Others were average kissers...
Who didn't quite rape my mouth...
But...
Still left me feeling assaulted all the same.
Every now and then...
I met the few who had a model for kissing that was close to mine..
Awesome people who didn't think kissing...
(or any showing of physical affection)
Was just a prelude to messing with my manly bits.
#sigh
The way a woman approaches kissing tells me quite a lot about what to expect in the relationship with her...
Just like how you think about making money selling your expertise tells me everything I need to know about the level of frustration or fulfilment you've set yourself up for.
There's a model for everything.
There is structure to every result.
And picking a business model that maximizes your impact and supports your values and priorities is very important.
In the Community Mastery Method™, our primary business model framework is a practice model I call Movement Based Enterprise™...
MBE™ for short.
There are 4 MBE™ archetypes that ultimately define how you build your practice.
Here are the 4 types:
The Connectors Type MBE™
These MBEs™ are built on trust and connection.
They are often about creating transformation, empowerment, healing and deep change.
And because the people who run Connector type MBEs™ are focused on deep change and not necessarily being everywhere...
The focus of the model has to be customized or personalized service even as you scale.
Clients and customers who choose to do business with a Connector type MBE™ want to be seen, heard and understood as individuals with unique needs.
The Celebrity Type MBE™
A Celebrity type MBE™ is built on possibility and purpose.
It's often focused on making a wide impact by building large audiences, energizing, inspiring and touching many lives.
Clients and customers who chose to do business with a Celebrity type MBE™ want empowerment and a vision for what's possible.
The Creator Type MBE™
A Creator type MBE™ is focused on creating understanding and know how.
The goal is primarily to spread ideas and information.
Clients and customers who do business with a Creator type MBE™ generally want to grow their competence and are often driven by curiosity...
A love for learning..
And a need for answers.
The Change Maker Type MBE™
A Change Maker type MBE™ is built on ideas and originality.
They typically serve by contributing new ideas, approaches , technology and solutions and the goal is often to change the way people think, believe and act.
Clients and customers who do business with a Change Maker type MBE™ typically want new answers and are tired of the status quo.
They value being on the leading edge of things.
Those are the 4 core MBE™ archetypes.
The perfect model for each of us is a combination of two...
A primary type: This is where you are strongest.
When you work and build your practice in alignment with this type, you basically get into flow and experience a lot of ease.
Your primary type is key to your leadership in your space.
Aside from your primary type...
You also have a secondary type...
This supports your primary type by maximizing and amplifying it's value. It helps you add deep value to your clients and customers.
Your primary and secondary MBE™ types are where you are strongest.
Now there's a third type that we all have and that's what I refer to as derailers.
This is about your weakest MBE™ type.
Building with this type is a formula for a lot of struggle and frustration because it forces you to focus on your weaknesses.
You wouldn't last long doing that.
Understanding your MBE™ archetype protects you from investing in strategies that don't make sense for you as a person given your values and priorities.
QUESTION: How do I find out for sure what my MBE™ archetype is?
Well...
I developed an assessment I call the MBE Quotient™.
It's designed to help you get...
- A personalized practice building strategy for building a practice that feels like home to you and those you serve.
- Clarity on your business plan and direction.
- Insights into why clients buy from you and how to differentiate your practice in a crowded market.
- Strategies to serve and scale in ways that you will find personally fulfilling and profitable
- Specific business models and offerings that fit who you are and those you best serve
If any of the following sounds familiar...
- You have the nagging sense that the path you’re on in your business isn’t quite “it”.
- You’re bored and unchallenged by the work you’re doing.
- You’ve tried lots of different things to fix it, but in the end you just end up more drained and discouraged because you don’t quite know what to do differently.
- You feel torn between different directions, and don’t know how to choose.
- You’re losing enthusiasm and energy for your business (and that scares you!)
- Some days it seems like you just need to blow up your business and start over.
- At times you feel trapped by the business you’ve built, yet are scared to shift things for fear of customers and money drying up.
The problems isn't that you don't have what it takes to succeed, it might just be that you're operating out of a business model that really truly doesn't work for you.
You can build practice that is fulfilling and financially successful...
One that aligns with your dreams, talents, values and lifestyle.
And knowing your unique MBE Quotient™ can shortcut your path.
Hit reply if you'd like help with that.
The investment for the assessment is N250,000 or $200 only.
Tomorrow..
I tell you about Sharon, a client of mine based in the US, who worked with a big name mentor who gave her some well meaning bad advice that left her frustrated and drained.
After telling her about the MBE™ archetypes and implementing it for her, her practice pretty much exploded.
I'll tell you all about it tomorrow.
Till then...
Get out of your own way.
Play a bigger game than you've ever played before.
