Much ado about beans and priorities

Hey there!

So a few moments ago...

I had a conversation with a client and her husband...

Client: Victor I have beans o. Come and Eat.

Clients Husband: Your inviting him to travel 7 local governments to come eat beans?

Client: It won't be the first time. You know Victor and his priorities.

Me: Err...how many meat is inside the beans?

Ok...

So I'm notorious amongst my clients for valuing weird things over money.

I've been known to...

Leave home at 7pm to share a cup of coffee with a client in a separate country.

Travel across Africa for a client's wedding and be back in time 2 days later for a party.

Spend N50,000 so I could share N2000 worth of suya with a client.

But it's not just about food...

I've stay up all night with a client just to make sure she didn't kill herself...

I have fought for a client's right to stay employeed.

And I have successfully stayed the glue that holds the love and peace in multiple marriages across the world.

And a few other shenanigans I'd rather not say in public.

For some people...

Victor na money miss road.

To others...

That guy is not okay.

But..

For those I touch with my attention...

It's a level of connection that is priceless.

You see...

The magic in my work isn't content or strategy...

It's trust...

And trust is compounded faith in the wisdom of another.

It's staying in the game long enough to reap the rewards...

Not because you trust yourself.

But because you trust another.

To build trust...

You need...

Competence

Character

Connection

And that's what it means to work with me at a high level.

I don't just care.

I commit.

Once I do...

You get direct access to my strategic judgment so you can solve problems faster...

Serve clients better...

And produce higher quality results more predictably.

Here's the thing that gets missed though...

It's the connection between my clients and I...

That drives the trust...

That drives the results.

My strategic judgement is relevant only to the extent that I understand you.

And I can't do that from afar.

Any ways...

Back to the story...

Turns out this client in question cooks beans without meat...

I mean who on earth does that?!!!😳😳

That's a sign that you need to get out of your own way if there ever way one.

Sensei.
