The Tribemaster's Daily Mentor | Volume 1: #9

FROM: The Desk of The Chief Tribemaster

Hey there

Let's talk about being Selectively Famous.

So once upon a time back in 2016, I dragged my then very reluctant self to the Computer Village here in Lagos, Nigeria.

FYI - it's a general market of sorts for all things tech and gadget.

I walked into a SLOT store.

My intent was to buy a laptop for moi.

I hadn't been there long when I notice a gentleman starring at me rather too intently.

Now...

You must understand.

That year was the year I became uber attractive to a rather uncomfortable number of gay men who for some reason had flooded my Highly Paid Experts Network (HPEN) group on facebook.

Some of them later become really awesome friends and have opened amazing doors for me ----

And let's not talk about the shopping and gifts - totally insane.

Anyways...

I notice this guy looking at me and now you can understand my discomfort.

Eventually he makes his way over to me and asks: Are you the Victor Bassey?

Instantly my fears disappeared and my vanity kicked in: Yes I am. How may I help you?

Long story short - he was a member of HPEN + he didn't have any sexual designs on me (to my surprise that was oddly disappointing #wasifinallylosingit)

We talked for a while and when he found out that I was in the market for a laptop: He. Paid. For. It.

And he's not the only one.

Fame is a pretty interesting thing.

Here's the thing though.

When most people think of being famous...

They imagine crowds of adoring fans chasing them through the streets demanding an autograph.

For some...

That sounds like Heaven...

For others like me - that's hell minus the stench of rotting and burning human flesh (According to John Constantine - great movie for Keanu Reeve fans)

Here's the reality though.

You don’t need to be a household name.

But it’s incredibly useful..

And profitable...

If potential clients recognize your name when they hear it...

And if clients share your name with other people and rave about you.

I don’t need everyone in the world to know my name...

I just need the right people.

At the right time.

For the right reasons.

That’s exactly what Selectively Famous means.

Being Selectively Famous will help you raise your fees, attract more customers, and make more money.

Question: How do you become selectively famous?

You can find a deep dive in to the subject in my book the Tribemaster Practice under the topic SHARP influence.

If you don't yet have a copy of the book, you can get it here

Later today though at about 4pm WAT and inside our facebook group #WeAreTribemasters

I will be digging into this concept live and will be open to questions.

Feel free to join us by clicking the hashtag above.

When you do join us though - please remember to agree to the rules or you wouldn't be let in.

It's a tiny little requirement but it says a lot about who you are as a person and also helps maintain and build a quality group.

That said -

Here's a key idea that I want you to keep in mind: Selective Fame means you are famous to:

  1. Your circle of clients™
  2. Your tribe of customers™
  3. Your audience of seekers5

That's it.

In the Tribemaster Framework™ we call that "Being a legend in your lunchbox".

And your job is to strategically and progressively expand your lunchbox.

I'll tell you more about this inside our group - where we can all actually have conversation about this.

That's at 4pm WAT today.

Till then...

Get out of your own way.

CTM

PS: Tomorrow I'll be digging in a concept in the Tribemaster Framework™ called Kokomma's Frame - It's a way of thinking about the finances that come into your practice so you'll literally NEVER be broke again. Those who have implemented this simple concept have experienced amazing changes in their finances - you will too.

You'll love it.
