Day 5: Mastering Your Method

Hey there!

Welcome to Day 4 of our Tribemaster Framework course!

Today, we're diving into "Master Your Method" - and this a mega differencee maker for your Tribemaster Practice.

But first a quick clarification.

What is "Master Your Method"?

When creating this framework I had a bit of a battle labelling this force multiplier.

My first instinct was to go with Master Your Model.

Given that your Tribemaster Practice is based on a model that is most in alignment with you as a person based on our Tribemaster Archetypes™.

Then I realized that a model still has to be implemented and the implementation is unique to each and everyone of us.

Our very own unique way - method - of implementing a model.

That's how I arrived at "Master Your Method".

So while it might sound a bit odd...

"Master your Method" is really about perfecting the day-to-day operations of your practice.

It's about how you consistently deliver exceptional experiences to your tribe through optimized systems, a strong culture, and continuous never ending improvement.

Bottomline it's about being exceptional at how you do what you do.

The Three Pillars of Excellence

Master Your Method is about three core things.

First is about making your that the running of your practice is fully optimized.

We called that Systems Excellence.

The key to Systems Excellence is this: Cut your coat BELOW your size.

You've got to know what your current capacity for delivery is and be careful to operate just below it whilst consistently working at increasing that said capacity.

This takes a bit of personal discipline. But you need to understand that going above your capacity for delivery might make you more money in the short run but long term your reputation suffers.

And you MUST protect your reputation - ALWAYS.

When I started working with Teclaire....

She nicknamed me "enemy of progress" primarily because I was strongly against her going beyond her given capacity at anytime and instead building a waiting list of people eager to work with her when the opportunity presented it sell.

I helped her understand that capacity in a practice is like a muscle and needs to be developed.

Overtime she saw the wisdom in that but unfortunately the Nickname stuck.

There are three key systems:

  1. Your system for creating and keeping customers
  2. Your system for running your business behind the scenes
  3. Your system for delivering your products.

Here's something key: All these systems MUST be designed to facilitate a high level of TRUST between you and your market.

The second pillar is what I call Culture Mastery

This is about building a team and environment that naturally delivers great experiences.

Now the Tribemaster Framework™ is designed to help you build a wildly successful and highly profitable Tribemaster Practice.

In others words:

Your practice generates $500,000 to $1.5million a year with 2 to 3 staff and you working max 200 days a year.

That's typically the picture of a successful Tribemaster Practice.

BUT....

And it's a big BUT #evilsnickering

That is supported by a culture of three things.

First is your process for developing and growing leaders within your community who embody your values and inspire others.

Second is ensuring that your staff (max 3) is consistently motivated and operate by very high standards of excellence.

In my practice and in my main business ( Primedia Communications) we have a simply protocol:

  1. Do what you say you'll do
  2. Finish what you start
  3. Say please and thank you
  4. Show up on time

All staff are evaluated on these 4 things and there is no room for a score of 3/4 or less. It's always 4/4.

A score of 3/4 three times means you're out.

This creates a high performance and extremely dependable work environment and experience by default.

The third and final pillar is Experience Innovation

This is about continuously improving and reimagining how you deliver value.

It's creatively improving how your serve your tribe.

It's clarifying and improving every point in your customers and clients journey with you.

But most importantly...

It's consistently and deliberately investing in improving your leadership skills and your capacity to create miracles and seemingly impossible things happen for your customers and clients.

Bringing It All Together

Mastering your method is about creating a practice that doesn't just deliver products or services...

But consistently provides experiences that delight and retain your tribe.

It's the "secret sauce" that sets you apart from competitors who might offer similar things to your market

Remember, exceptional experiences don't happen by accident.

They're the result of intentional system design, a carefully cultivated culture, and a commitment to ongoing improvement.

Your Homework

1. Systems Audit: look at the key areas of your practice. Map them out step by step and ask yourself does this encourage my clients and customers to trust me.

2. Culture Check: Start the practice of consistently assessing yourself and your staff on the 4 habits of referability:

  1. Do what you say you'll do
  2. Finish what you start
  3. Say please and thank you
  4. Show up on time

3. Innovation Brainstorm: Think of a business known for great customer experiences (in any industry). How could you adapt one of their innovative practices to your daily business operations?

Tomorrow, we'll explore the final force multiplier in our Tribemaster Framework: Master Your Mind.

This crucial component will help you develop the mindset needed to implement and sustain the force multipliers we've discussed so far.

But for now, focus on refining how you deliver value to your tribe every single day.

Remember, in a world where products can be easily replicated, your method – how you do what you do – is your true differentiator!

Till tomorrow.

Get out of your own way.
