One of the most powerful insights I have ever had about the importance of building tribes is this:

Great marketing is what happens when you're being good to your community.

Pretty cool right?

The moment I understood that...

It changed the way I did things...

And suddenly all the gimmicky and manipulative things that "marketing books and courses" asked me to do in order to succeed become irrelevant.

Think about it..

What's more fulfilling than being rewarded financially and otherwise for being good to people who know, like and trust you by meeting their needs?

Today I'd like to share a few ideas and insights I've had over the years about marketing...

These are not the typical things you'd find people share about marketing...

Some might sound familiar...

Some might freak you out...

But these insights have turned my life around.

#1 Leadership is the new marketing. People are silently crying out to be led. They are literally crying out for information about your product

Now remember...

In the Community Mastery Method™...

The word product refers to organized intellectual property that solves a specific problem for a specific market.

Typically we refer to them as SolutionFrames™

Intentionally educating your market about your SolutionFrame™ and how it solves that critical problem that keeps them up at night in a way that's meaningful, relevant and engaging is a powerful form of leadership.

But what typically happens?

We send out random information about random things and ultimately share this with random people?

And yet we wonder at our random results. #evilaugh

#2 People don't know what to do until you tell them

You'd be shocked just how many of us in the expert space never actually get round to making an offer..

And yet wonder why we're not making any money.

And most of that happens primarily because we don't actually think through what steps lead up to a sale...

Or prepare in advance to comfortably help people take the next step with us.

#3 Leverage ads to build audience. Leverage audience to build community

What that means is this...

Use ads to distribute your content and wisdom...

Ultimately building an audience of interested people who know, like and trust you...

Then make your offers to this audience of interested people to convert them to bonafide members of your tribe that you build an ongoing relationship with.

#4 People don't know or remember what makes you special until you tell them or remind them

This one took a while for it to sink in for me.

But once I got a hang of it...a lot changed.

We typically assume people understand our value because of what we do for them everyday.

But we need to remember that they've got a gazillion thought running in their heads, not focusing on you is easy.

In fact...

It makes it easy for you to be taken for granted.

You have to be proactive in pointing out your value to your clients and your marketplace.

#5 Take on all the risks

The typical way...

The safe way to do things is to let your clients assume all the risks...

The Community Mastery way is to assume risks and make guarantees.

The trick to this though is being smart about what you guarantee.
