Hey there ,

Just got back into Lagos...

And I'm currently on lock down mode....

Had a small crisis yesterday...

But I'm getting better...

So yesterday's email stirred some pretty interesting responses...

I got a few emails asking for my bank account details...

And these amazing HPEN folks sent me some money!!!

It felt really cool...

So just in case some of you thought to do the same...

Here's the account to send it too...

Providus Bank Account No: 7801192176

Account name: Victor Ekpo Bassey

That said...

A response that I got that kinda triggered this email was this:

CTM I envy you. How do you come up with these things?

Well...

I'm going to tell you.

The challenge is there's a high chance that you wouldn't do it.

So I'll just be upfront about this...

Don't be a part of the statistic.

Simply suspend disbelief and do it.

So...

How do I come up with ideas?

Wrong question.

The real question is: How do I consistently attract, receive and recognize a great idea?

The answer?

Training.

Like pretty much anything else in life...

You train yourself to recognize great ideas.

And just in case you're wondering why I say that...

I personally believe that ideas are as a direct result of:

  1. Our Knowledge
  2. Our Awareness of what's possible
  3. Our Willingness to grow and change

And that means the quality of ideas we can all tap into is limited to a large extent by these three things...

You want better quality ideas...

Expand any one of these 3 and the quality of ideas you have access to will radically improve.

Second...

I do not believe in useless ideas...

I believe I recognize ideas only when it's useful...

So pretty much every idea that pops up in my head is useful...

It's a matter of the context within which it will be used...

If you understand that...

Then what I'm about to share will be profoundly useful to you...

You see...

There's a conscious as well as an unconscious practice to the recognition of a great idea...

The conscious practice is all about paying attention to what's happening around you.

The unconscious practice is all about paying attention to what's happening inside you....

How do you pay attention to what's happening around you?

Journaling...

I call it the Accountability Engineā„¢

It's consciously taking time out to document your experiences and what you learn each and every single day...

Doing that locks in the value of your experiences...

It give you the opportunity to...

  1. Expand your knowledge
  2. Expand your awareness of what's possible
  3. Expand your capacity for change

Just doing this alone will do a lot for your creativity in this field.

How do you pay attention to what's happening inside you?

Get clear about what you want and consistently visualize it.

Stubborn HPEN member: Bert CTM I don't know how to visualize...

CTM: #smh Pretend that you do, then pretend that you're not pretending...your unconscious won't know the difference.

Every time you visualize what you want, you're clarifying to your unconscious what to pay attention to and giving it a framework for the quality and kind of ideas to bring to your attention.

That's why I love hypnosis...

It totally shortcuts the process and get's directly to your unconscious.

So now you know.

Question: will you run with it?

Till next week....

Cos I'm still on lock down...

Get out of your own way.

CTM

PS: Jeff from Providus Bank says thank you!
