I wish I knew this at the start

Hey there!
So as of today I've been in the expert space, 30 solid years...
And sitting here typing this to you...
I think about the wisdom and foolishness of the past 30 years and all I can truly say is that...
I'm grateful my foolishness didn't do me in.
There are a number of things that I wish I had the courage to accept at the beginning of my journey.
I say this because I'm one of the few people in the world who had the early benefit of a world class mentor at the very beginning of my journey.
All I had to do was listen to her and do what she recommended...
But I didn't.
Instead, I unwittingly choose to suffer very unnecessarily for 15 years before choosing to simply put my ego aside and just do what she told me to do.
As a result of that...
Over the last 15years...
I have achieved infinitely more than I did in my first 15years.
Today to kick things off as I start to share with you how to build a community that forms the base for launching, growing and scaling wildly successful and highly profitable global practice....
I want to share those key foundational concepts that I wish I paid more attention to at the very beginning....
These concepts will anchor everything else that we'll be talking about in the day's to come.

CONCEPT 1: GIVE PEOPLE SOMETHING OR SOMEONE TO BELIEVE IN
We live in a world where people have lost faith.
If you create something for people to believe in (YES DO THIS) or someone to believe in (NO DO NOT FOCUS ON THIS), it is massively empowering, not just for what you are trying to build, but for other people.
And fundamentally...
If you're one of the uber amazing people subscribed to the Daily Mentor...
I know that you're committed to making a huge difference, not only in your life, but in other people’s lives.
BUT....
And this is a huge BUTT #evilpunintended
You've got to understand that building a personal brand is NOT the way to go...
To say it in another way...
The point here is NOT to focus on building a personal brand.
That is not to say that building a personal brand is bad...it's not.
To be honest a personal brand will provide you with very strong benefits and opportunities very quickly.
However...
When your humanity inevitably kicks in...
That same personal brand will take from you all that it gave you and more besides...
So what do you do?
Well....
Think in terms of providing people with a framework of values and beliefs that when accepted provide them with an inevitable path to a future bigger and better than their past.
And simply function as a fellow traveler and guide on the path.
STOP! STOP!! STOP!!!
Read that again....Slllllllloooooooowwwwwlllyyy.
Think in terms of providing people with a framework of values and beliefs that when accepted provide them with an inevitable path to a future bigger and better than their past.

This protects what you build from your humanity and gives you the best chance of sustaining whatever you build.
CONCEPT 2: GIVE PEOPLE SOMETHING TO BELONG TO
I believe that we’re in the beginning of a global belonging crisis.
People are out there feeling the pain of not being connect to people just like them...having their people.
I’ve seen this firsthand so many times as I’ve built a number of businesses based around deeply connected communities.
From having communities of women coming together for cooking parties back when I was a butcher...
To quarterly retreats for subscribers of PowerIdeas...

I've stopped publishing PowerIdeas.
Sold reproduction rights to all my audio and kept the name.
The goal is to take it online this year, narrow the focus to just specifically teaching The Community Mastery Method on a subscription monthly audio basis.
Same core idea but different subject matter and distribution media.

Here's what I've learned facilitating all these communities...
When you give people opportunities for finding their people...
Nonspecific pain on many levels, often leaves their lives.
People come alive.
Magic happens.
And suddenly...
These people open doors for you that you can't open for yourself.
I can tell you from first hand experience, it's an incredible place to be.
CONCEPT 3: GIVE PEOPLE A ROADMAP FOR INVESTING IN THEIR FUTURE
Here's a very powerful thing I discovered...
Once people buy into the future you are offering...
You literally don't have to sell anything.
They will buy by default...
Even if it's literally nothing...
Case in point back in 2020 I sold very Limited Editions of Nothing for N1000 each....
Made about N400k from it first round
And still had people paying for nothing till 2022 when I turned it off.
They. Paid. For. Nothing!
Crazy right?
But that's what happens when you've got positive buy-in.

You need to think through an ecosystem of offers that strategically leads people future you have promised.
You need to be thinking in terms of offers that develop the skills, behaviors, attitudes and sense of self that gets people to the future you promised...
Not just information put together to impress.
It's investing in a guarranteed transformation that depends the commitment of your people not the amount of information you provide.
CONCEPT 4: GIVE PEOPLE A MIND VIRUS INFECTION
If you've paid attention to my work for any length of time...
I hope you get the sense that I'm not particularly interested in bringing large numbers of people together...
Rather what I'm interested in is creating a way of thinking that once a person is exposed to it...
It infects them so deeply that it shakes their fundamental beliefs and values...
Transforming their sense of self and ultimately leading them down a very specific path...
And once they are down that path...
I want a level of contagion so high that my ideas spread from person to person like a virus....
A Mind Virus.
You've got to think this way too.
How do you do it?
Wharton professor, Jonah Berger, spent years researching what makes ideas contagious....
What makes them go viral?
He found six core elements.
I'll breakdown these 6 elements in the context of the Community Mastery Method is the days to come....

The more you have of the 6 elements that you have in play, the more contagious an idea becomes.
CONCEPT 5: GIVE PEOPLE LEADERSHIP THEY WANT TO INVEST IN
This is about going beyond just being an expert or a thought leader even.
We need to make the transition from thinking about ourselves as just experts (people who know stuff) to thinking ourselves more as what I refer to as:
Tribemasters - market place leaders who facilitate change and/or transformation for a community/tribe of people interested in a specific future or creating a specific reality whatever that might be.
It's a major mindset shift that emphasizes prioritizing people over transactions.
It's leading with integrity and wearing you humanity on your sleeves.
It's walking the walk and earning the right to demand that your people raise their standards and commit to becoming better versions of themselves.
It's a place of trust.
The difference is the trust given to you by your market, isn't based on your character or personality...
But on the principles, values and beliefs that you represent.
These 5 concepts are at the heart of the Community Mastery Method and took me forever to come to terms with...
Hopefully as we unpack these concepts over the coming weeks...
