Clean up Your Mess
Aug 01, 2020 12:01 pm
Hey there!
Here's what I've learned about success from creating two multimilion naira assets back to back:
Changing and taking advantage of opportunity also means creating a mess.
Now...
When I'm talking about messes here...
I'm not referring to the state of my Kitchen after I've succeeded in creating a cullinary masterpiece...
Or the state of my room after making sweet love to my beautiful drop dead sexy wife...

Nah....
Here's the kind of mess I'm talking about:
An obligation to something or someone you no longer have any commitment to.
A mess to me...
Is an unresolved issue in your mind and usually...
IF you have one mess...
You have more than one.
Messes could be something big or just a lot of small things.
For instance...
Last year I started I project but didn’t follow through on it because I simply wasn't interested in it anymore.
Don't ask me what it was...
It's bad enough that I'm confessing my sins in public....
Free me...!
Anyway back to my story...
Somehow— consciously or unconsciously — I decided that I didn’t want to do it...
But I didn't settle the matter with the people concerned...
Long story short...it became a mess.
The problem with messes is that eventually...
Your brain gets bogged down
with all this “stuff” that you've left hanging and not formally concuded.
To free up the mental space your messes are taking up...
You’ve got to go back and clean that project up...
Formally end or get rid of it.
Messes come in a lot of forms:
Legal issues...
Mishandled relationships...
Abandoned or waylaid projects...
Problems you’re avoiding because you don’t want the hassle of dealing with them...
Health issues that result from not taking care of yourself,...
And the list goes on.
To grow...
You've got to clear up the mess....
Mentally, emotionally and physically...
How much more productive could you be
If you didn’t have any messes weighing on your mind?
Quick answer: ALOT MORE!!!
This is the benefit of focusing on cleanups.
Though it may take an infusion of energy at the beginning to tackle accumulated stuff and messes...
Once you clean them up and develop the awareness and strategies to keep new ones from taking their place...
The influx of energy and freedom you experience will more than cover the
upfront cost.
This is an investment in your future growth and freedom that pays off in countless ways from the moment you take action and do it.
Let me know your thoughts....
Till tomorrow
Play a bigger game.
