[CMM101] Tactical Advice to an Executive Presentations Coach

May 27, 2020 12:00 pm

Hey there

Yesterday the following question came in:

"Thanks for the email.
I've got some questions for you sir.
I built a personal brand as an executive presentation coach.
I worked mostly mostly with private clients who could afford
me and who needs that nature of coaching I offer.

But recently, I noticed something: because I was working
with private clients, I was almost invincible and unknown
in the speaking industry (by mass).

When the pandemic started, I decided to try the mass
market. I started running low offer programs.

Currently, the stuff is becoming a little confusing as
I had to worry a lot about whether to make my program
low offer or high offer.

I'm also wondering if I am doing the right thing.

Please guide me Mr. Victor.

What do you think someone like me needs to
do about this?"

Pretty interesting question right?

Well the very first thing is this:

DO NOT MESS WITH YOUR CORE OFFER.

Don't reduce the investment...

Why?

To maintain the integrity and perception of the program.

Rather than do that...

You can work out different options for payment plans with prospects.

In fact if I were you...

I'd probably increase the investment for my core program and then

workout a generous payment plan for my prospects.

Second...

Sometimes you current core offer might no longer be relevant to

your market...

Now not that I said offer....

Not program...

And offer is simply a promise to produce a specific result in

return for a specific investment....

So if your offer in the past was:

I'll teach you how to be a world class presenter...

That might no longer be effective in our COVID economy...

You might need to change your offer and not necessarily

your program...

Third...

I don't know if you've built a list for your customers and how often

you email them...

I think now would be a great time for you to double down on doing

just that...

Forget about targeting the mass market...

That is ALWAYS a bad idea for experts...

Rather what you need to is to start working on building a tight audience

of people who are specifically interested in what you offer..

And simply work on increasing the connection you have with them.

Here's what you'd need to do that.

  1. If you don't already have that done...break down what you do into a three step process that you can teach over and over again. Give it a name and make that the center of what you teach and build your audience and tribe around.
  2. Decide who you want to serve, get very clear on that and create a 10 to 15 page report that shows the person how your system helps them get what they want in spite of what's happening in the economy.
  3. Put together a 5 day challenge based on your system and design the challenge to deliver one specific result based on your system. Add a few bonuses to make the offer as irresistible as possible
  4. Now start set up a landing page and promoting the report to your past clients, your general audience on social media and everywhere else. Once they download the report...immediately make an offer for them to join you in the 5 day challenge for N1000 or $3. The point is not the N1000 but rather to check their readiness to become a customer.
  5. Run the challenge and make them an offer for your core program. At this point you can make them a special offer with a discount and you'd be able to do that with integrity and still protect the value of your core program.
  6. You job now would be to get your report into the hands of as many people as possible and make the offer for the challenge on the back end.
  7. Doing this enables you to generate leads, and also build a tribe of customers.
  8. Now would be a great time to invest in a mentor

Now please understand that this is a general recommendation...

I don't know enough about you or your business to make a definite recommendation.

That said...

The principle is basically this:

  1. Build an audience of people interested in what you do.
  2. Make an offer to convert them into customers.
  3. Then make an offer to convert the customers into clients.

I hope that helps.

Got questions?

Send them in and I'll answer them.

Tomorrow..

I'll share with you the most ridiculously simple attention hack

for getting your market to like you..

It's the same strategy I used to turn a facebook group...

into a multimillion naira asset in 11 months starting with just N10,000

Unfortunately we couldn't focus on that today or this email would be

way too long...

So...

Till then...

Play a bigger game.
