[CMM101] The #1 Strategy For Getting Attention

Hey there
I believe that the #1 mistake that most experts make is
trying to be anything and everything to anyone and everyone.
It's classic...
And...
I get it.
We want to help as many people as possible.
The big challenge is this:
We forget that we can't be relevant to everyone at the same time.
I mean...
Think about it...
Even buffets get eaten a plate at a time.
If you want to get liked in any market...
You can't afford to split your focus...
You've got to first be really really clear about who you want to be
liked by...
Once that's settled...
The only thing to do is to consistently show up in ways that are meaningful,
relevant and engaging...
That's pretty much what happened to me with the Highly Paid Expert's
Network facebook group...
Back then...in 2015
I was the primary care giver to my amazingly beautiful girls...
I'd just lost my "Shine Shine Granny" (My grandmother)..
And I was at a point in my life when I wanted to do something new...
And make a difference in a major way...
So I started the group...
My first goal was to narrow down who I wanted to be relevant to...
Second goal was to get a smart phone...
It ended up being this ridiculous thing with rather tiny touch buttons.
I got it for N10,000.
Third goal was to just show up and be of service....consistently.
By the end of the year...
Starting from the 5th of January 2015...
We had less than 2000 members...
But...
Within 11 months and by November of that year...
We'd cleared N28million in revenue.
My point?
If you want to make money...
And...
Attract fame and all that good stuff
You don't need to attract the world...
You want to be the big fish in a very small pond...
Now please don't me wrong when I use the words small pond...
It could be a small tribe of 2000 people and you're made...
Heck!
With even 450 people...
You can be set for life like one of my students: Edward Williams
It could also be a mega tribe of 100000...
The point isn't the number...
You want to be super relevant to a very specific set of people and then
consistently show up and be of service...
It's really as simple as that.
So how do you do this?
First...pick a platform.
I picked facebook...
I didn't do any blogging or tweeting or even email..
For.
A.
Year.
People have this idea that you have to be everywhere...
That's okay if you have the money to fund that...
If you don't have a lot of money starting out...
Choose one platform and go hard...
Second...
Show up daily!
Back then I showed up on the group 6 to 8 times a day.
With that kind of frequency...
What happen was that I dominated the newsfeed of my members.
These days...
I'm focusing more on email...
So guess what I'm doing?
Yup...
Showing up daily and dominating your inbox.
Here's what happens when you have this level of consistent
value addition...
When you keep showing up over and over with valuable content
that's meaningful, relevant and engaging....
You'll see not only a growth in quality leads....
But also easier sales & better clients when you have the
positioning that consistency helps create for you.
