Welcome to the March 24th edition of Faith & Life Lessons.
You will see this email full of tidbits from my week. My goal is simple. I hope that from how I live my life, you can find a thing or two that helps you as you try to live a life that matters. I am always trying to do one thing - make Christ-focused decisions in love, work, and life. And this was my week.

The Story of My Week
It’s interesting the sort of feedback you get from people when you least expect it.
On Friday, I had someone from IT helping with the set-up for a virtual meeting I was having in one of our meeting rooms.
He got everything set up and my picture profile popped up on the screen.
To add a bit of fun to the whole situation, I remark “Look at that chubby cheeks”
To which he responds “You are a mentor to so many here.”
That was completely unexpected.
Interestingly, I am considered a mentor to people in a company where I have only met a lot of them for six weeks.
The only thing I can allude to is that I showed up with a sense of calling and vision.
I believed I was there not only for myself or just to make a great payday.
I was there for the service of the people I would work with.
And the glory of God.
I still believe there is more I can do.
As part of living out God’s greater mission for me on this earth.
For this season and for this time.
Things I Learnt
1 - God is More Interested in You Than You Are: This has been my mantra for probably more than 2 decades.
Why?
Because I have seen God take up things that I didn’t think were an issue before they became an issue.
More than that, I have seen Him step in to prepare me for the challenges ahead or give me a smoother passageway.
On Wednesday, I got the good news that some things our family had been pushing through had finally been concluded.
The interesting thing is that late last year, as I was pushing the final stage of what needed to be done, I mapped a direction for my family of which direction we would follow once we got it.
1 week later, God threw our world into a tailspin. The verdict - He didn’t want us to follow that path.
He was asking us to follow a completely new path that was more or less starting from ground zero.
On Wednesday, when I got the news, I was happy - happy because this was something God demanded us to walk by faith to achieve.
It was a reminder to me that having gotten it, God who has also asked for this new direction will perfect everything.
It doesn’t get easier.
The assurance is that God is more concerned about me and my family than I could ever be.
We live for greater glory - the glory of living the life He marks us for us.
Not an easy life - A faith-filled life
Trusting is God’s ability to fulfill His Word.
As I commit to living the Word.
2 - Keep Your Circle Strong: During the week, I went to a meeting where I met someone from my undergraduate.
I finished a year before she did. We have never met after graduation.
But we connected on social media.
Every year since we connected, I always send her a personalized birthday message.
Not the general “HBD” or “LLNP” messages.
It’s something I do for everyone in my circle.
When we saw, we hugged and did a bit of reminiscing.
When I mentioned that we hadn’t seen in over two decades, there was a sign of surprise from everyone else.
According to them, we greeted like we hadn’t seen in probably a little over a month.
That was when she responded.
According to her, the personalized nature of the birthday messages made the distance short. To her, this was someone who was still part of her world.
That’s how I continue to keep my circle strong.
If we don’t get to see, I am still committed to celebrating you and your special moments in a way that honours you.
And the circle keeps getting stronger.
Postscript
May you honour your friendships in a way that your friends feel valued and chosen. Amen.
