Hello from Iowa!

I've posted the first chapters of Dreadfortress (Badges of Dorkdom, Book 2) on Royal Road. This expands the fortress building to a dungeon with Spellscript clues to build a new outpost, hopefully, before the orcs arrive.

If you're new to this series, it's like a younger, dorky version of Raistlin tries to build a nation despite the game master in his head being absolutely no help whatsoever, except for the badges of shame he permanently affixes to his person.

Book 1 is going through the last touch edits, so its original version is still up on Royal Road. It'll come down whenever this goes to Kindle Unlimited.

While Aethon Books takes care of publishing this new series, I’m back to editing the last book in the Ciphercraft series, Portal Wars. In case you missed it, Book 3, Resurrection City released in May.

Speaking of Aethon, they have a new release today from Blake Peel, Frostworld.

Another new release from Aethon was the second book by J Pal, an absurdist sci-fi LitRPG called They Called Me Madder.

Thanks for reading this quick update from my life. We’re having a blessed summer with taking the kids to swim lessons and grinding through more physical therapy for my back. I won’t spoil the Olympic skateboard results, so I’ll just say I once had a dream of landing many of those tricks. I have a partial draft of a skateboard samurai LitRPG in my laptop. Would you like to see that someday?
