Resurrection City - A Town Building Fantasy LitRPG is live!
May 11, 2021 4:58 pm
Greetings from Iowa!
Ciphercraft Book 3 is released into the wild :), free on KU. It took a little longer to release as I switched editors, and it's my biggest novel yet at 155k words, but I'm thrilled to see it launch. This is the book where I play with my love of Age of Empires and city building. I also came up with an idea for a mob of razor butterflies used by the dungeon core to protect her from invaders. I think you'll agree, it's an intense read.
Here's the cover and links. I'm sending this to Podium, and will follow up when it releases in audiobook.
Resurrection City: A Town Building Fantasy LitRPG (Ciphercraft Book 3)
The price they paid to find this city won’t come close to the cost it takes to build it.
The Cipher has rewarded Cullen with XP to distribute across areas of Resurrection City, from military to defense, economy and more, but he'll need so much more than that to protect his people. And he must do it while negotiating treaties with invaluable allies and fighting off sorcerers, mobs, and the dungeon core growing up out of their backyard.
The galaxy-spanning Osuna have seen the city’s power from beyond the stars, and are now on their way to claim it for themselves.
Cullen’s job is to build this city before they get there, because if he doesn’t, only slavery and genocide await.
Will he meet the challenge, or let his people’s greatest hope die in a valley somewhere deep in the Spirit Realm?

Dakota Krout had this to say about the genre: "LitRPG is progression fantasy or science fiction bound by the rules of a video game. It uses a hard-magic system that allows the readers an in-depth look at those rules, which ensures consistency and allows for the mitigation of power creep."

Publishing news:
If you'd like more frequent updates and to hang out, I've started a Facebook group specific for Tim Kaiver fiction. It's easier to post there, and I hope to see you there too.
I'm hoping to finish the first draft of my Dreadlord/Badges of Dorkdom book 2 this month. No word yet on a timetable for release.
In my spare time, I'm making notes about the next books in my Ciphercraft and my Godsknife series. Ciphercraft 4 is mostly written, and Godsknife has a book out already. I could use more reviews in those if you'd like to check them out. Godsknife is still a Timothy C. Ward publication, but when I recover it, I'm going to move it over to Tim Kaiver and expand to more than just LitRPG.
