It's been a long time coming

Hi friend!

Remember me? It's been so long since I sent a newsletter (January of 2024, I think) that there's a good chance you don't. I don't blame you. I've seriously dropped the ball on sending newsletters AND on updating my Instagram. Ever have something you need to do but you put it off so long that it just becomes harder and harder to do? Yeah, that was me and sending a newsletter.

Sometimes you just need to rip the band-aid off, and surprise surprise, it's rarely as bad as you think it will be. I've updated a few things around here and I really hope to do better connecting with all of you going forward, so I hope you'll give me grace and stick around. (If you're receiving this email it's because you either signed up on my website or entered a giveaway)

Speaking of updates...

I figured if a year and a half absence warrants anything, it's a face lift. Part of why it's been hard to write a newsletter is because I knew I wanted to make some changes but I just didn't know what. I figured out that what I really want is for these emails to feel less like a newsletter and more like a chat. Like catching up with a friend on the porch. So that's what I'm aiming for here. Each month I hope you'll join me on my virtual porch swing where the weather is always perfect and the coffee is always fresh. I still plan to give writing updates and behind the scenes peeks, as well as share what I've been reading lately. And I'd really love if you'd chat back and share with me!

What's new

I feel like I've already talked a lot, so I'll give a brief update on all the things.

  • The new school year has just kicked off and my daughters are heading into grades 11, 9, and 6. Time is such a thief because I swear they were all babies yesterday.
  • I'm nearly the end of the first draft of a contemporary marriage of convenience novel. I started it because I heard it's a challenging trope and boy, has it ever been. It's had lots of moments that were super fun to write and others that make me question my sanity and decision making skills. I wouldn't say no to any prayers!
  • I'm heading to the ACFW National Conference next month! This is a great time for me to meet with other authors, talk to editors, and grow in my craft. I've been once before and it was such a good conference. I can't wait to return this year

What I'm reading

I'm currently in the middle of Tammy L. Gray's Love and the Dream Come True. I've read the first two of the series already and I gotta be honest... as much as I really enjoyed the first two, I wasn't so sure about reading this one. I'm glad I am, though. I really love Tammy's writing. The romance is so authentic and I love that her characters have stuff to wrestle through. Every spare moment I get (which admittedly isn't many) I'm picking it up to sneak in another chapter.

What books are you reading right now? I'm always up for a good recommendation, especially romance!

Thanks for hanging out with me today. And seriously, if you cannot remember who I am, I get it. Take a look at my website, tiffanymillerauthor.com, for a refresh on what I'm all about. And I pinky promise not to be a stranger again.

Until next time, I'll be on the swing with my coffee and a good book.
