Pumpkin spice or apple crisp?

Happy Fall!
It's my second favorite season (a very close second to spring) and I don't know about any of you, but I am so ready for colorful leaves, crisp air, and cozy sweaters. And of course, like many women, I love the flavors of fall and have enjoyed several pumpkin flavored drinks already. So far I've had a pumpkin spiced latte from Starbucks and from Dunkin', and I still need to try one from my favorite local spot - a Christian coffee shop that is pretty much my favorite spot in town. Maybe I'm biased, but I anticipate liking their version of the fall staple the most.
How about you? Do you have a seasonal go-to this time of year? I've been hearing of apple getting it's own well-deserved love lately. So my question for you is, which is your favorite? Pumpkin or apple? Do you hate them both? Or are you an equal opportunity consumer when it comes to all things fall?
Let's Catch Up
Whew, it's been a busy month! We've got a lot to talk about, so grab your drink of choice and let's get cozy on the porch.
Since my last letter, my three girls started their school year and I now have a junior, freshman, and 6th grader. I say it all the time because it's true, but these girls were babies yesterday and I do not understand how they are so big today.
At the beginning of September, I had the incredible privilege of attending the annual ACFW conference. Admittedly, I didn't spend a whole lot of time in the workshops, though not because they weren't excellent. My primary goal was to pitch my novel to publishers, and God gave me the chance to talk to all three of my top choices. I'm SO encouraged after meeting with each of them and I'm really excited to finish this project so my agent can submit it to them for their consideration. I'd love your prayers as I finish this draft, revise and edit, and put together my proposal.
Pitching wasn't the only good thing about ACFW - I got to meet up with many of my author friends too (and meet new ones!). Pictured below are pics with some of my fellow Christian Mommy Writers, and a pic with the lovely Sara Brunsvold.
A few short days after getting home, my oldest daughter starred in our community theatre's show, The Diary of Anne Frank. She played Anne Frank, and wow... what an incredible show! My heart was working overtime at all of the showings I attended, swinging back and forth between grief for such a dark time in history and pride for how incredible my girl did with her portrayal. I couldn't be more proud of her!
What I'm Reading
I'm just coming out of a bit of a reading slump right now and finally finding more time to tackle my TBR again. I ordered like, five new books just a week ago, so it's coming at a good time!
For the last few years I've led a book club at my church and we recently started Joanna Davidson Politano's "The Curious Inheritance of Blakely House." It's so different from anything I've read before and we're all really enjoying it. I love her writing voice and the gothic vibes of the story.
Thanks for hanging out with me today, friends! I hope you enjoyed today's break on the porch ❤️
Until next time,
