Why Your Choices Matter in Birth: How a Doula Empowers You?

Dear ,

Buntis ka ba?

Or nakaranas ka ng mabuntis at manganak?

Did you know that your choices in childbirth matter?

Your birthing experience should be a reflection of you - your values, your comfort, your decisions.

Your choices can impact not only your immediate experience but also your long-term well-being and that of your child.

In other words, your birth experience should be all about what you need and want.

But this almost always never happens.

Sabi nga nila, these situations are very common.

Kaya tayo nagkakaroon ng problema, dahil sa unnecesary and uncalled for treaments (personal or medical) like these.

You see, our mental and emotional state during labor and birth impacts our physical body.

Paano ka lalaban kung sa simula pa lang, people around you declared in your face (or even behind your back) that you can't do it?

And eventually will have to undergo several medical interventions?

"The baby is too big for your pelvis, CS ka na."

And so many other lies.

When I learned more about it, andami kong "aha" moments.

I lost control over them.

But what I had control over was, my present.

That's why when I was given a chance to experience the birth that I want, I deserve and what God designed for me...

I made sure that my birth was within my terms. All my choices are respected, considered, and followed during labor and birth.

Kaya sobrang thankful ako kasi nagawa ko sya.

With the help of my small but amazing team.

Alam mo ba sa birth na to, it felt like it was my redemption?

That birth experience brought me back the power I had lost from my other birth experiences.

I finally believed that my body is powerfully designed by God.

Because God doesn't make mistakes.

Especially in creation.

Nakalimutan lang natin.

Binaon ng ilang dekadang brainwashing and lies told to us over and over again.

But believe you me, that power is there.

God gave us powers.

Through our mind, our body, and our soul.

Can you imagine how powerful our body can be that it can nurture another life inside and outside?

I am always in awe everytime I learn how one part, cell, membrane, organ, etc. in our body works.

There are things that even Science cannot explain.

But it's there. It works. It happens.

Why am I telling you this?

Because I want to help you take that power back (if you've lost it).

Or learn how to not lose it in the first place.

Your choice matters.

Especially in how you want to experience birth.

Learn your options.

Ask questions.

Get support.

Like getting support from a doula.

A doula can help empower you and show you options.

A doula will advocate and fight for you.

A doula will be there for you when no one else can.

I am not trying to promote myself as a practicing doula.

Nasa learning stage pa din ako.

I am simply sharing this to show you that you never have to feel alone in your journey, like I did.

Your birthing journey is an incredibly intimate and transformative experience.

Your choices should be celebrated and respected.

A doula is your partner in ensuring your choices are honored.

Providing you with the emotional and informational support you need to navigate this life-changing event.

I invite you to explore the many ways in which a doula can empower you to make choices that are best for you during this extraordinary time.
