Next, the talk on the street has to do with the number of complains coming in about what are being referred to as "Semi-Absentee" franchises. Here's the problem.

A lot of them aren't.

They actually need the franchise owner to be involved way more than what is being advertised. And people are losing their money. So beware.

Pro-tip: When you're on the phone with franchisees (as part of your franchise research), ask them how much they are at their places of business. Both when they start their franchise business and then a few years in. You'll be glad you did!
