I couldn’t do inner child work 😬

Hi ,
I want to share something vulnerable with you today...something you may be able to relate to.
For a long time, inner child healing didn’t feel soothing to me at all.
It felt pretty triggering, actually.
I’d try online meditations or exercises that went straight into “meet your inner child” or “go back to that moment” — and my system would just shut down.
Sometimes I’d have to stop halfway through and cry…
Not because I was “doing it wrong”… but because my body wasn’t ready to go there.
And that’s something we don’t talk about enough.
Not every nervous system feels safe doing inner child work head-on.
For those of us who experienced trauma, we often need a gentler way - one that helps us gain insight and healing without overwhelming the system.
For me, tapping was the key 🔑
Over time, it helped me feel safe enough to approach inner child work in a self-healing way - in my way, at my pace.
