Do you have children, grandchildren, nieces, nephews - or know a young person who enjoys playing a musical instrument? Here is a unique opportunity for them to learn together, join in, have fun and gain useful skills and insights into musical performance. If you don't know a young person suitable for the workshop, why not come along afterwards to the concert performance and support professional musicians? Everyone is welcome!

Te Awamutu Concerts Alive! are pleased to remind our supporters about a special free children's musical workshop coming up next month (Sun 4th Oct) called Ocean Sounds, led by professional, experienced music teachers, based in Auckland. Both musicians have performed concerts for us in the past, and are keen to build on that experience and support our local community. Here is their invitation:

Ocean Sounds is our FREE two-hour music workshop for children, followed by a community concert, led by professional musicians Yune-Sang Yune (flute) and Camila De Oliveira (piano).

Students will collaborate in an ensemble, explore ocean-inspired music and perform together.

No need to be perfect!

The music will be sent beforehand, and based on the child's instrument - three difficulty levels are available, depending on the student's ability. We'll work through the music together on the day, so please don't feel anxious if your child can't play everything yet.

Grandparents, parents, whānau, and our wider community are warmly invited to attend the public concert which begins at 3:30pm. Adult tickets will be available (cash at the door) $20.
