Dear friends of Stand Up to Racism (Birmingham SUTR),

We have multiple events happening in Birmingham this week, including an open planning meeting on Tuesday (all welcome to help plan anti-racism activity in Birmingham), taking part in a SUTR national day of activism on Wednesday, and protesting Reform UK's national conference on Friday.

Don't forget to book your coach ticket to take part in the March Against Fascism in London on 13 September.

Plus, we've shared a public statement on the flags being placed on lampposts around Birmingham. SUTR is also supporting the BRUM Together statement on the flag. You can read the statement and sign it youself.

Open Meeting Tuesday 02 September - All Welcome

Join us this Tuesday evening 7pm at Brig Cafe in the city centre (or on Zoom) for an open planning meeting. We'll be discussing anti-racism actions in Birmingham, including making final preparations for our protest of the Reform UK conference on Friday.

Oppose Reform UK Conference - Friday 05 September

Reform UK will be holding their national conference at the National Exhibition Centre.

Let's come together as a community to organise a powerful response and show that Birmingham rejects racism and division, and that Nigel Farage and his politics are not welcome.

SUTR Birmingham will be holding a protest outside the venue on the first day of the conference, Friday 05 September. Join us there to add your voice and take a stand against Reform UK.

In advance of the protest, join our planning meeting (all welcome) on Tuesday 02 September to plan the protest plus other anti-racism activity in Birmingham.

Coaches to the demonstration have been arranged with pick-up locations in Dudley, Birmingham, Shrewsbury, Telford, Wolverhampton, and Walsall.
