Dear friends of Stand Up to Racism (Birmingham SUTR),
The current national and international situation requires that we up our game in organising a broad united coalition against racism.
Birmingham SUTR is introducing a newsletter to keep you informed of the latest local and national events. If you don't wish to receive this newsletter, please use the unsubscribe option below.
Recent activities include a successful campaign leading to the cancellation of a Katie Hopkins event in Birmingham and opposing racist protests outside hotels housing asylum seekers across the Midlands.

March Against Fascism and Tommy Robinson
Join activists from around the country who will be taking part in a national demonstration and March Against Fascism in London on Saturday 13 September.
Fascist Tommy Robinson has announced plans for a national mobilisation in London with a number of high-profile racist, sexist and transphobic speakers including Jordan Peterson and Katie Hopkins. We've stopped them before and we’ll do it again. March with us on 13 September to stop the far right.
Coaches to the demonstration have been arranged with pick-up locations in Dudley, Birmingham, Shrewsbury, Telford, Wolverhampton, and Walsall.
Additionally, coach travel will be available from Coventry and Leamington. For travel from these locations please contact coventryunite@yahoo.co.uk or 07496 647254.
Mobilisation to Defend Refugees - this Saturday 23 August in Cannock
Last week, a rabble of racists brought their hate directly to Cannock town centre.
They are planning to return this Saturday 23 August. Join us from 11:30am at Upper Bandstand, Cannock Town Centre to make our voices heard - and to make it clear that we won't allow hate and threats against asylum seekers in our communities.
Every time a counter-protest happens we prevent racism and extremism becoming a dangerous norm in society. Every person matters. Join us!
