SYAO Creativity, the week of December 12, 2022

Hello, everyone!
Here's the latest edition of SYAO Creativity. Let's see what's going on in our creative world!
STITCH (What I've been working on)
I released the pattern Happy Gnome Hat this week! It's so cute, and right on trend with the continuing gnome craze that I'm seeing in both knitting and quilting. I'll have kits available for the hat starting this Wednesday (two days from now), or you can certainly use scraps. (You'll need a full skein of blue to make the stocking cap, however.) Click the button to get the pattern (or just click to look at it for fun!). Let me know if you want me to put aside a kit for you.
Extra thanks to my buddy Misty for the particularly gnome-worthy pose she devised!
YOUR (What you've been working on)
This story is a good one. Alexa made her first pair of socks using the Really Clear Designs Top-Down Sock pattern. She was intimidated by the ribbing, so her first sock has a roll top. The second sock, however, was all systems go! Good job, Alexa, for forging ahead with your idea. It was a great solution and honestly, I can't decide which sock is better!
(And if any of you are stuck and need help, and don't wish to forge bravely ahead without help, we are here for you at Stitch Your Art Out.)
ART (Inspired by art or nature)
This light installation by artist Bruce Munro at Longwood Gardens reminds me of Dresden Plate quilts. It would be cool to put the plates this close together!
OUT (What's out on the shelves in the shop)
I'm a huge fan of the GoKnit bags. I've told many people the story of how I'd buy them whenever I'd see them in another store.
I love them because they're smooth, and yarn doesn't stick to them. When I use other project bags, I put these inside.
One day I was walking through the wholesale yarn market, and they had a booth. I decided that since I already had five of my own bags, maybe it was time to carry them in the store! I've never looked back.
They just came out with a bunch of new colors, and I restocked. Here they are, mixed in with the original colors I had. It's a lovely rainbow!
Let's not talk about how many I've gained since I started carrying these bags. Let's just say that it's more than five.
As always, make an appointment to shop or browse, or just to show off your stuff! I can't wait to see you!
