STITCH (What I've been working on)

Before I talk crafting, I want to thank you all from the bottom of my heart. I started crying from the generous response on Friday, and most of you know that I'm not usually a crier! You gave my friend Joy enough money to more than cover the rent. She won't have to worry about food now, either. Joy says thank you a thousand times over to all of you. As do I. I appreciated your entrusting me with sending her the money. It is all safely with her.

I've been working on a number of things, but the one that's especially intriguing me at the moment is a crazy quilt. I'm working on it a wee bit at a time and am going to do crazy quilting as one of the retreat projects at the Raystown retreat in April. Here's my start! My quilt is all pieced and sandwiched. I'm using the embroidery as the quilting.

YOUR (What you've been working on)

Rachel made such a lovely, autumn-colored shawl. This pattern is called Silver Leaf. (So of course silver would also be a terrific color choice!) Set up a time to come in, and I'll fix you up with both the pattern and the yarn!

ART (Inspired by art or nature)

What inspired my crazy quilt above? This! Sharon made an appointment simply to show me a crazy quilt she had gotten that was dated 1884. It was stunning, with so much clever embroidery! The quilter, whoever she was, truly was an artist. Those flowers in the center of the top square are embroidered. This quilter had so much fun!

OUT (What's out on the shelves in the shop)
