Hello, everyone!

Happy Monday! Here's the latest edition of SYAO Creativity. Let's see what's going on in our creative world this week!

A quick note that I'm in Chicago this week at the wholesale market. The shop will be open from 10-3 (by appointment as always) this week. I'll be back on Monday, May 12.

STITCH (What I've been working on)

The May block of the month came out on Saturday. Here's the block! It could use a little bit of pressing, but that can come later. No rush for that sort of work.

YOUR (What you've been working on)

Deedra's version of my Entrelac 101 cowl is so pretty! She used Ultra Alpaca with Silk Garden--a beautiful combo. And she couldn't help herself. She added beads. That's understandable.

ART (Inspired by art or nature)

If you're local to the shop, have you ever been to the Palmer Museum of Art? Right now there's a traveling exhibit Art Nouveau. The pieces are exquisite. This is just one little thing, a stunning vase. The furniture was also very cool, with lots of inlaid wood. This exhibit ends May 11, so get there ASAP to see it!

This glass vase was from a German artist who lived from 1842-1917, Ferdinand von Poschinger. (We should all have such elegant names.)

And look at the woodwork on this buffet. I nearly fainted when I saw it, but I mustered enough strength to take a photo. Louis Majorelle (also a fancy name) created this. He lived from 1859-1926. (I get the feeling he would be disgusted with my unpressed block.)

There's way more. Go, I tell you. Go see this exhibit before May 11.

OUT (What's out on the shelves in the shop)

Simplicity is one of my favorite yarns for babies! It's soft, feels good, and is practical. The colors are terrific! Everyone who uses it comes back for more!

P. S. It also makes a nice cowl or hat or mitts for grownups.
