STITCH (What I've been working on)

I'm working on making yet another Advent shawl that I have planned for release in December. There will be a clue each day for 21 days. (The shawl needs time to dry, so we'll stop a wee bit before Dec. 24!)

It's an easy pattern from a knitter's standpoint, which is the idea since it's for Advent. I wanted something that wouldn't take too much thinking, but that would be pretty. I think I accomplished that. (If you don't celebrate Christmas, it's just for FUN.)

Here's a sneak peek of it. I was knitting on it just a bit at Longwood Gardens over the weekend while Kevin and our friends took a tour of the underground pump system.

I've made 2 of these shawls, and they're so pretty that I'm more than happy to make a third! It's worsted weight, so it goes fast! The kits are on the website here, and the pattern is on Ravelry here. When you preorder, the kit will include the beads at no extra charge. If you need a steel crochet hook to put the beads on, that'll be additional. Let me know when you order. (Just give a call, and we can take care of it.)

YOUR (What you've been working on)

As we head toward deep winter, these mittens that Myra showed me look like just the ticket for warm fingers! She used our Jamieson's yarn. It's perfect for tiny Fair-Isle work.

ART (Inspired by art or nature)

I have to show you more of Longwood Gardens. I'll be showing pictures over the next few newsletters because there are so many beautiful things there. I took this photo of part of an art installation by Bruce Munro.

OUT (What's out on the shelves in the shop)

It's chunky-yarn time! Here's the current selection of Malabrigo Chunky. It's perfect for gifts--fast knitting, but it feels soft and looks stunning. What's your favorite color?
