STITCH (What I've been working on)

Kevin and I got hitched last week (we basically eloped but had all our parents there), and as is traditional for a crafter, I still don't have his personalized wedding quilt quilted. But at least the top is done.

I got the idea for it because he has a screen-saver picture of a kitten in space and bacon floating around it, so I did basically that for the quilt. When I showed it to him, he started out with an "Oh, that's pretty" as a kind gesture, and then he saw it more clearly and doubled over laughing.

I'm sure it'll be quilted by our 5th anniversary or so.

YOUR (What you've been working on)

Carol brought in her stunning version of More Stripes, Please, and I just love it! The pattern is here, or if you prefer a paper copy, I have it at the shop. Set up a time! We can also fix you up with yarn!

ART (Inspired by art or nature)

Artist Jenni Bateman used to live in our area, but sadly, she has moved, and I miss her. Her artwork is glorious, and she often combines painting with fiber. Here, she has "an ‘ode to those Nordic Vikings who spread their dna resulting in strong women whose dexterity produces beautiful garments and art." This is her watercolor and colored pencil on 140# watercolor paper. It will serve as the "under painting" as she embellishes it with machine and hand stitching. We have something to look forward to!

OUT (What's out on the shelves in the shop)

I've been thinking about bringing this panel into the shop for a long time. I finally broke down. Set up a time to pick one up! It would be part of a great bedspread for a kid. Or a throw for your favorite paleontologist! And what living room doesn't need a set of vicious throw pillows? Rawr!!!!!!
