BOBO YI, O FUNNY SHA!

Do not Skip this if you have a dream...

If you are a Nigerian and you understand Yoruba so well, you will understand the above title without much explanation. In case you do not understand, here is the meaning: "This guy, you are very funny". I get this sort of response a lot, but I am not close to being a comedian.

Whenever you hear someone say that to you, except that you intend to be funny, it simply means what you just said is not possible, or it does not make sense. Moreover, I must say to you that if you are a dreamer, and no one has ever told you: *"o funny sha",* or something related, be sure your dream are not big enough.

Big dreamers usually get such a remark, and sometimes worse. When my team was planning our first live event, a poetry slam, one of the persons I respected and invited asked me, *"are you going to do it in someone's room?* To show that he did not believe in it, he did not come to the event, but it was a successful event and one of the best at that time.

I am now used to people laughing at my dreams whenever I pronounce them. However, no amount of ridicule and disbelief will make me stop believing I can bring these dreams to reality. The history of the world is filled with the story of big dreamers who are ridiculed and labeled lunatics because they hope to bring their dreams to reality despite they looked impossible.

When Mohammed, without formal education, told the people of Mecca that he was a prophet of God, he was ridiculed, labeled a lunatic, and sent out of Mecca. But today, his dream has come to reality, whether you believe it or not.

When Henry Ford built his first automobile and tried it on the streets of Detroit, some people looked at it and said *"no one will pay money for such a contraption",* but he replied *"I will belt the earth with dependable motorcars".* The rest now is history with its pieces of evidence around us.

Sometimes, these ridicules come as a test of persistence to dreamers, but if they do not give up, regardless of who believes and who does not, they have, and will always bring their dreams to reality.

My dreams are funnier!

I want to become one of the greatest philosophers in the world, yet opted out of the University to achieve that. Is it not funny? I am out of my senses? How can that even happen in a primitive society such as Nigeria?

However, as you read this, I have written & published 23 books, and just to tell you that my dreams are possible, a few years ago, I got a report that one of my pieces is taught to the students at a University in Jamaica.

Not only that, I once went ego-surfing and found that one of my many articles has been translated into Arabic and taught in Saudi Arabia. They did not remove my name from it. Whether I will become one of the greatest philosophers in the world is yet to be seen, but the clouds are gathering.

This is out to the dreamers out there.

My useless advice to you is this: just keep believing, or watch me set a pace for you. If you do not give up, one day, the world will say your name and write it in the secret place in their souls where it can never be erased. Keep dreaming!

Meanwhile, on my birthday (5th of September 2022), I will be giving out the PDF version of 19 of my 23 books, the cheapest of which sells for *N3000* for just *N699.* If you are interested in any of the books or wish to learn more about them before you decide, kindly click on the group link below to join other interested people.
