The quote I thought I understood
Mar 22, 2025 10:27 pm
Hi ,
The first time I heard it from my mentor, I thought I got it.
“Entrepreneurship is not about waiting to see what happens. It’s about making what you see happen.”
It made sense.
It sounded smart.
I even wrote it down.
But I didn’t live it.
I kept saying yes to too many things.
Chasing shiny ideas.
Letting the loudest thing in front of me steal my focus.
I was busy—constantly moving—but I didn’t have much to show for it.
Overwhelm and frustration became the norm.
And still, I thought I understood the quote.
Then one day, I found the note where I had written it down.
Same words.
But this time, they hit different.
I sat with it.
Pondered it.
And slowly, started doing things differently.
I stopped defaulting to “yes.”
I chose my projects more deliberately.
And most importantly—I started finishing what I started.
The result?
Momentum.
Clarity.
Launched offers instead of lingering ideas.
That quote finally became real to me.
So I’ll leave you with this:
Look at what you're working on right now.
Are you waiting to see what happens?
Or are you making what you see happen?
If you want a second set of eyes or a sounding board, reply and tell me what you’re working on.
Happy to share some thoughts.
