🟩 What to do when you don’t know your message yet

Hi ,
Yesterday I said something that might’ve hit home:
If people can’t repeat what you do, they can’t refer you.
And for a lot of people, that’s the sticking point.
It’s not that they’re unclear in their own heads.
They know what they do.
They’re great at it.
But they’ve never taken the time to turn that knowing into a clear, simple, repeatable message.
So when someone asks,
“What do you do?”
They start talking in circles.
They try to squeeze in everything.
Or they throw out a fancy title… that just leads to blank stares.
If that’s where you are — it’s okay.
You’re not alone.
A good place to start is by answering three foundational questions:
- What problem do you solve?
- For whom?
- What makes you different?
These are simple — but not always easy.
Especially when you’re close to your own work.
That’s why, when I guide clients through my Ultimate Core Brand process, we go deeper.
Because your message should reflect not just what you do, but how you show up — and how others experience you.
So before we shape any message, we explore three deeper layers:
How do you interact with the world?
→ This uncovers the kind of impact you naturally bring to situations and relationships
How does the world see you?
→ This reveals what makes you fascinating and memorable in other people’s eyes
How do you make success happen?
→ This identifies your unique patterns of progress, problem-solving, and forward motion
Once you understand those three things,
you can build a message that isn’t just clear — it’s true.
Your message isn’t a tagline.
It’s not a slogan.
It’s a clear, repeatable idea that others want to share — because it makes sense, it’s useful, and it sticks.
