đźź© I thought I was improving, but...

Hi ,

In the last email, I told you there were two key things I had been missing.

Here’s the first one:

Self-Acceptance.

Now before your brain tries to file that under “Yeah yeah, I’ve heard that one before” — stay with me.

Because I thought I understood it too.

But what I realized is that most of what I called self-acceptance…

Was actually self-improvement in disguise.

It was still rooted in “I’ll feel okay about myself after I fix this thing.”

“After I become more disciplined.”

“After I stop procrastinating.”

“After I get better.”

It’s subtle, but the signal underneath was this:

“I’m not quite there yet.”

And I kept thinking the solution was more effort.

More skills.

More pushing.

But you can’t hate yourself into growth.

You can’t shame yourself into consistency.

It never sticks.

What does?

Since I’m talking about self-hate and how it shows up as self-sabotage,

You might be thinking that the opposite of that is what we need.

And you’d be right.

Except… we might not see the actual opposite.

We might reach for something that only looks like it.

Let me ask you a question.

And try to answer it before reading further:

What is the opposite of self-hate?

If, like me, you thought “self-love,” you’re thinking about the wrong answer.

Self-love, while precious, is not the opposite of self-hate.

The opposite of self-hate is…

Self-acceptance.

Real, grounded self-acceptance — the kind that says:

“I can work with this version of me. Right here. Right now.”

That’s when things started shifting.

My inner resistance softened.

The pressure dropped.

I could take action without the constant friction of needing to “earn my worth.”

And ironically?

That’s when my skills finally started working like I hoped they would.

Self-acceptance isn’t the finish line.

It’s the foundation.

More on that soon — but first, in the next email, I’ll share the second discovery.

And this one?

It has the power to make change feel almost effortless.

Talk soon.
