đźź© What pirate dogs taught me about selling

Hi ,

Nobody wants to buy a drill.

They want a hole in the wall.

But let’s be honest… they don’t even want the hole.

They want to hang up that cute photo of their dog dressed like a pirate.

Or that moody art print they bought on a whim and now pretend to understand.

Or maybe that “Live, Laugh, Love” sign they swore they’d never own… but here we are.

The point is: they’re not buying the tool.

They’re buying the result.

Or actually, the feeling behind the result.

They want to see something on the wall.

They want their space to feel a certain way.

They want to look at it and smile (or feel fancy, or deep, or organized, depending on the vibe).

And it’s easy to forget that when we’re the ones selling.

We get caught up in features, frameworks, modules, specs, deliverables…

But nobody cares how powerful the drill is if they just want to hang up a frame without cursing at the drywall.

So next time you’re talking about what you offer, zoom out.

Talk less about the drill.

More about the feeling.

And maybe, just maybe, leave room for the pirate dog.
