Hi ,
Let’s talk about guarantees—and why they aren’t really about the guarantee.
A lot of consultants avoid offering one.
“It’s risky.”
“I don’t want to refund people who don’t do the work.”
“It makes me look desperate.”
But here’s the truth: A strong guarantee doesn’t make you look desperate.
It makes you look confident.
It signals: “I’ve done this before. It works. I’m willing to share the risk with you.”
That’s powerful—especially when you’re early, unknown, or trying to win trust fast.
The trick isn’t to guarantee everything.
It’s to guarantee something meaningful.
Some ideas:
- “If we don’t hit [X], I’ll [Y].”
- “You’ll see [result] in [timeframe], or I’ll keep working for free.”
- “If this doesn’t feel worth it after 30 days, walk away—no questions asked.”
You’re not giving away your shirt.
You’re building trust, faster.
And if you’re really good?
You might not need one at all—your reputation becomes the guarantee.
(That’s the goal.)
