đźź© Trust is your moat. Start digging.

Hi ,
A few months ago, someone reached out to me looking for a copywriter.
I had the perfect referral. Talented, fast, sharp.
But the client didn’t ask about skills. Or price.
They asked one question:
“Do you trust them?”
That was it.
Because in high-trust circles, that’s the real filter.
Skills can be found. Prices can be negotiated.
But trust? That’s earned—and rare.
If you’re a solo consultant or fractional exec, this is your moat.
It protects your pricing.
It drives referrals.
It’s why people say yes without shopping around.
Here’s how you start building that moat:
1-Show up when you say you will
It sounds basic, but most don’t. Reliability is your first trust deposit.
2- Talk like a pro, not a pitch
Drop the “I help X do Y through Z” nonsense. Talk like a human who’s done this before.
3- Let others vouch for you
Reputation builds faster when others talk. Collect stories, not just testimonials.
4- Stay in sight
The more visible you are (emails, posts, interactions), the more top-of-mind you stay. Trust compounds with familiarity.
Here’s the cheat code:
Be the person others can vouch for without hesitation.
The “yes” becomes automatic.
Tomorrow, we’ll wrap up the Risk section by unpacking why trust is emotional—and how to reduce anxiety even before the sale.
